Well it seems I am having the same trouble as everyone else. I manage some multi-family properties in the Saint Pete area and I get complaints all the time about these guys coming out at night and selling cheap meat to the residents. The problem I have is that they tell my residents that my company endorses them and gave them permission to solicite. Actually solicitation is illegal in Saint Petersburg without a permit per City Ordinance: (((REDACTED))) See for yourself.

My security team has confronted the salespeople about this issue and they have been called names, cursed at, told that they would only leave if the police made them, etc. Well the police have made them, although the usually leave before the police arrive. I have an ongoing police report currently with the Saint Pete District 2 office and hope to be able to press real charges soon.

Please, if you read this, even if the meat is good- do not endorse tactics and business practices like this by buying their meat. One look at their sales team and you may be nervous to open your door. Hats backwards, face piercings, and a rude demeanor should be enough to draw the shades and lock the deadbolt.

The worst encounter was with one of the team who called himself "Ray". He accosted my Property Manager and sped off just as the police were rolling in. Hopefully Direct Foods will find that it is simple to make money if you are honest, have good customer care, and obey local laws and trespassing signs. Good luck, hope this helps!
