This credit card company will rip you off for additional charges and your money. Be sure you pay your bill before it is due. They hold on to payments, check or on line, for about 4 additional days.

Case in point; I paid the $8,100 balance off on line and checked on-line to see if it posted a few days later. It had posted but only half the payment. They post the whole payment up to 14 weeks later. For which you have another interst charge added on. So when I checked back about 5 days later, hoping to see a zero balance, I had another $194 balance. I paid the balance that is on-line on the due date and it cost me another $194? This is only the beginning. I have been trying to close the account, but the balance has be at $0. This company makes it very difficult to get away from them. I paid off all of our credit cards. Seven "Bank" checks went out on the same day. 3 - 4 days later, all but this card had received payment. On the tenth day, this card company called my house looking for payment. Later that evening while checking the account on-line, it showed be recieved, but only half posted. This company plays games with your money and payments. Making it almost impossible to avoid late-charges. Today, I paid the final payment that was on-line and after I talked to a supervisor who confirmed the correct balance. I paid on-line with a bank-draft that is debited from my checking account. The money is aways taken out the following day. The supervisor claimed that my bank takes the money out of my account and writes a check and mails it to the credit company. If this is true, why is this company to only one to be waiting for payment after the bank subtracts it from my account. Every other credit card and payment service credits the account the day they get it!

Stay away from HSBC, Direct Merchants Bank and anything that is called the "American Dreamcard". They'll suck you dry and try to make it impossible to get away.
