Attended sales meeting in Sarasota, Fl on 5/14/09.  Joined thinking I could get my money back when I purchased a new car.  Also got the "free" airline ticket spiel and sent the $29 and then they requested additonal $100, which we sent.  Then we ordered tickets.  Form was returned informing us that we had filled it out wrong. Never got the tickets nor the refund of the $100.  Now, I have tried to utilize their purchasing powers.  The only things I have been able to purchase thru them were 2 end tables that took 3 months for delivery.  Also, a Tempurpedic matress that took 2+ months for delivery and a Seal-a-meal that came fairly quickly.  I have been told NO on probably 30 different requests from appliances, to lighting to TV's, carpeting and electronic gear and now my latest is on a Weber BBQ grill that they say is seasonal and not available from their suppliers.  "Worlds largest selling BBQ and they can't get me one?"
I complained to the US Better Busines Bureau on 12/8/09 and was told after their investigation that they, Direct Savers, were not members but their investigation revealed a rating of "F" because they would not resopond to the BBB request by phone or writting. I have a pretty extensive file on all my requests and their replies.  I have asked for my initial payment be returned on several occasions but denied.  What their sales people tell you at their presentations is totally off base from what they will actually do.  They just plain LIED because I believe if they told the factual truth, they would not be able to sell their product.  They got me for $1999.00.  Oh, I said in the beginning that I felt I could get my fee covered when I purchased a new car.  I purchased a 2010 Lexus and they could do nothing for me.  SORRY !!
