Mastec offered me a salaried position which was supposed to pay me based on 40 hour work weeks, and should have included paid holidays from date of hire. MasTec paid for hours worked only and refused to pay holiday pay as obligated by the Employee Handbook January 2010. I requested salary arbitration as required in the Employee Handbook but they refuse to even answer email, phone, and mail inquiries. MasTec also said that I enrolled in health package "too late" (they did not have my paperwork on file) and refused to provide benefits (i completed the enrollment as part of the new employee package and had copies made at the time i filled them out.)

More Crap: My experience with MasTec was the worst of all employers I ever worked for. The HR/Legal will not answer emails or voice mails (on any subject) unless you absolutely hound them. A coworker once asked an IT guy a yes/no question via email. The IT guy forwarded the email to hist boss who forwarded it to my coworker's VP who then chewed out my coworker. The management writes people up for having a "negative" behavior. Another coworker hand to hound HR to get her benefits package (health and dental) taken care of. Management refuses to listen to suggestions from those below them if it conflicts with decisions they already made. In an employee meeting I was asked how negativity in the workplace affects me. My honest answer resulted in me being written up. If management feels a process can be done better, instead of training those who do the process they take that job function away from them. They promoted a girl who was a shift manager at a KFC over a guy who had years of experience with Siebel systems. i could go on and on...
