On October 10, 2011 a woman named Barbara called late at night from Los Angeles California.  She stated the Disabled Handicapped Workers of America had turned me over to her company for collection of a past due bill for light bulbs we ordered in 2009.  I did not order light bulbs and told her so.  She said my husband probably did, I asked him if he had, of course he had not.   She continued to state if I did not send her a check for $72.45 tomorrow and call her so she could send an electronic receipt, we would owe a total of $198.00 for late fees and collection costs.   I said we did not order bulbs and if a bill was ever sent to our address we did not receive it.   She continued to threaten to ruin our credit if we did not send the money and call her.   I stated I would look into the matter and let her know what I  would do.  So I looked up ripoffs and found that DHWA had called others with the same story.
