Yesterday, November 5th, 2014, I applied to an ad on Craigslist for an administrative assistant position via my personal email.  I received several odd emails back that made no sense, all saying the same thing: 

"The subject of the email doesn’t contain the necessary information to update the referenced case. Please reply to the original email, and do not modify the subject line."

I thought nothing of it, and decided to stop trying to fix my subject heading and re-send it.  

Today, November 6, 2014, I was contacted by prospective employer from Craigslist wanting to set up an interview for an administrative position. Below are the contents of that email:

Hello,
I hope all is well. My name is Sharon- I'm the staffing manager here at Discover ITT. I've reviewed your application, and you may be a good fit for our administrative staff. Everything looks good, however I will need you to send me your resume in functional-executive format (company requirement for new hires). Please re-send me your resume in the correct format, along with the first date you can begin so we can move forward.

If you are unfamiliar with a functional-executive format, I'd recommend finding a template, or a quick resume builder online (I know OneBuckResume.com or ResumeEdge should support the format).

After searching "functional-executive format" resume on google, I found a rip-off report from a person saying he/she received the same email-- word-for-word.  I began looking further, and found more reports of the same kind.

This needs to be stopped.  These people are praying on job seekers and apparently using several different fake/fraudulent companies to do so (it seems to be the case).
