Nicole was right. They lie and trick you into giving them $165.00. They told me it was a deposit for their demonstration products but when you sign the contract, it never mentions a "deposit". I only hope my stop payment on my check was before they tried to cash it. They dont have you fill out any W2 forms, or anything that pertains to you being an employee. They lie about working up to manager unless you think about how much of their stuff you must sell in a very short period of time then you continue the vicious cycle of doing the same to other victims that don't know what they are getting into. I seen online that if you don't spend more than your making, your only making pennies anyway, and from what I seen while I was there for "training" is very accurate. A young kid was there when I was and they sent him home, made him re-schedule for a day when he had the $165.00. FISHY???? Yes! They say training is paid but truthfully it is, but only if you sell enough of their stuff in a very short period of time, then you only get 10%... that is your training pay! I'd rather work at Mc Donalds than to stoop that low, not to mention I'd probably make better money at Mickey D's! Enough said!!!

The Company's Side ...

AUTHOR: ajg77 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, January 31, 2010

I work for Safety Enterprises and had to respond to this because it is so full of incorrect statements.  I don't believe that Gwen is intentionally lying but her affiliation with us only consisted of attending one three hour training class and she just literally doesn't have her facts straight.

Gwen said "They lie and trick you into giving them $165.00"

The deposit, and the ways it is refundable, are clearly explained during the initial interview, at training class, and in writing on our contracts.  It's refundable upon reaching management.  If you are coming to a training class that means you have been offered the management position.  The only way you don't achieve that is to quit or do something to get yourself fired.  We want you to make it through training because we want you to be a manager.  That is how our company grows, and how we make money.

Gwen said "They don't have you fill out any W2 forms ..."

You aren't employed by us as you are going through training.  We do have you fill out a 1099 form and if you make over $600 during your short training period you would be mailed your tax forms at the end of the year.

Gwen said "They lie about working up to manager ..."

This is simply outrageous.  Every single manager, regional manager, and DVP in our company went through the same hiring and training process with us.  That is one of the best parts about our company: We only promote from within - from people who go through our training program!  Most of the managers currently running offices for us completed their training and were in an office within 60 days from when they started training.  A lot of us made it in less time than that.  If Gwen would've lasted more than three hours she would've seen this with her own eyes.

Gwen said "A young kid was there when I was and they sent him home, made him reschedule for a day when he had the $165.00 FISHY???? Yes!"

How is this a bad thing? The deposit is required for training.  The initial training class consists of going over everything in the kit, and he obviously couldn't receive one unless Gwen would've been cool with him getting a free kit while she paid for hers.

Gwen said "... but only if you sell enough of their stuff in a very short period of time ..."

Our training program is self paced.  As a trainee you get to set your own schedule and train at your own pace.  If you stick to our guidelines and suggestions it shouldn't take any more than the 30-90 days that we tell people during the interview.  Those who want to be in an office sooner will be able to put more time into it than those who may have other jobs, go to school or have family commitments.  That certainly doesn't mean that those people can't be successful here.  There is no deadline and no time constraints.

Gwen said "I'd probably make better money at Mickey D's!"

You weren't willing to do the work that was required.  Like a lot of people you liked the idea of having an office and all the great befefits that go along with it, but when it came time to do the work you weren't up for the challenge.  So in that regards, you probably would've been more successful working at a place like that.

A lot of what Gwen said is very typical of some of the misconceptions about our company.  I have worked here, proudly, for almost 9 years.  I had the same opportunity presented to me that she did.  I sat through the same training class.  After that, we went down different paths.  I did the work that was expected, she did not. I am extremely happy with the way my career has evolved since that point.  I truly hope that Gwen has found a similar happiness.
