Alright, so I'm just going to be completely honest with you guys about how this company works! Take it from me, I use to WORK for them! So here is my story:

I see the job opening on Craigslist, so I decided to check it out and go in for an interview. So, I go in for the interview and it's a group interview. There's about 12-15 people there, and all you're asked to do is say your name and something about yourself, and perhaps your past work experience. So, we all do, and now I'm thinking they are going to seperate us, or at least get to know more about each individual, but much to my surprise, EVERYONE one gets the job. Now, I try not judge people, but I thought that was extremely strange, especially because of some of the people that showed up. But as a broke college student, I decide that maybe I'm overreacting, and it is a call center that needs alot of people, so I decide to give a try and go in for training.

The next day, I attend training, which last for about 6 hours, and the trainer doesn't give much about the company, but after filling out a phone book worth of paper work, she does start to give us a script to read while on the phone, and a list of REBUTTALS. Okay, so that's over, and I come back the next day to start.

The manager, nice person, but doesn't look like he/she (don't wanna give anyone away!) hardley graduated high school, much less have a degree in finance, is giving us advice to use while talking to customers on the phone.

While talking to these customer, we aare to inform them that we are able to lower their intrest rates on their exsisting credit cards as long as they qualify-meaning they have to have at least $3,000 in debt and pay over 9.9% interest. We are to go on asking a few more questions, eventually asking them to VERIFY their credit card information. Now this is the important part! They ask you to VERIFY-the customer mostly likely assuming that the person on the other end has you information already...IN REALITY, the majority of the people DO NOT have computers, and are just writing down what you tell them...yes, pen and paper, YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION, and in MANY, MANY cases, carrying your information right out of the door once their shift ends. The paper says that you are terminated if you leave with the information, but I PROMISE YOU that NOBODY is checking to make sure all the papers are accounted for, and I can name PLENTY of people that walked out with a whole LIST of people's credit card info.

So, I'm on the phones, and all I can hear is pressure to 'make a deal', 'make a deal'...which ultimatley means getting a customer to close. Now, take in mind guys, I am a college student, but I'm not majoring in anything close to finance, accounting, or economics, and I don't own any credit cards, so this is all completley new to me.

Now, the SECOND day, I go in, and there's a meeting before the shift. And the manager says the STRANGEST THING! And I'm pretty sure no one else caught it, but I did. One of the employees ask the manager a question about what was the best response to a particular question a customer may ask. Now, the manager says something...but what I distinctly remember is he/she telling the guy that he needed to hurry up, because by that time, a customer may be trying to look us up on the internet! What? Hold on a minute! Now most companies will ENCOURAGE customers to look them up on the internet, but I thought that was MIGHTY strange. So I finish the day out and go home.

I do begin to think though...one-I'm not even 100% sure, not even 50% sure what these people are fully agreeing to once they are transfered to these "financial specialist" (which mind you, have NO DEGREE or QUALIFICATIONS at all), the people there are LOUD, GHETTO, and UNPROFESSIONAL! Not to say they aren't nice people, just not people that I would want handling any of my personal information, and finally, I DON'T EVEN THINK ANYONE HAS TOLD ME THE NAME OF THIS COMPANY!

So, before I go in for my third day, I do some research maybe about thirty minutes before I'm suppose to be in...and the only website that comes up is RIPOFFREPORT.COM and I read report after report after report on how they've been scammed from this company!

Now I'm a strong believer in accountability. If you are not aware of what you're doing or what's going on, then I can understand, but once you are fully aware of how something is, you are COMPLETLEY responsible. Alot of the employees brag about getting $1000-$1800 paychecks every week, but AT WHAT COST! I wouldn't want to make $18 THOUSAND dollars a week if I knew it was at the expense of hurting and scamming other people. Needless to say, I didn't come in for that shift or any other shift after that. I'm amazed at how they even sleep at night.

Beware though! They pray on the elderly and sick, and they're are living darn well on your heartache! From the reports I've read, they charge you $1100 and don't lower your credit card interest rates!

Pay attention at the end. The company was fined $300,000 i Missouri for violating do not call laws. It is only a matter of time before they are shut down. The Georgia Attorney General's office is working with all the information they have...

VP Marketing aka Versa Debt IS NOT a 'Legitimate' Company!!!!!!!!!!

To 'True Voice'

I have been on the 'other end' of VP Marketing for almost a year now. I have been contacted by them more than 58 times in the last 8 months!!!!! I keep a record. If there is actually a Do Not Call list, you do not utilize it. LOOK IT UP ON THE INTERNET with the other names this company has used, (VERSA DEBT, CLEARBREEZE SOLUTIONS for exameple). I have asked, EVERY TIME I AM CALLED, as have all the other people I spoke to, to put me on the 'do not call' list, and THEY HANG UP ON ME!! I have PERSONALLY been called names as well as been cursed at by the 'ghetto' people. It's true, as I have a higher level education, and given how the 'customer service reps' curse, one with a decent education, like myself and unlike you obviously, can only ASSUME they are uneducated ghetto folk like the previous poster stated. Everything that poster stated rings true and his review was much better written than yours, so no one could question his intelligence OR education level!!

This company 'hijacks' old phone numbers or fraudulent numbers so they think they are untraceable. That's why a different number comes up on the caller id screen every time they call. You WILL get hung up on if you ask to be put on the caller ID list. YOU WILL NOT get a direct number if you ask, You will NOT get a true name (Michelle is a commonly used customer service rep name). Trust me, this in and of itself is going to get your company in the can for hundreds of thousands of dollars.

They have asked for my credit card information, I have asked to be put on the do not call list, and I have even called your DIRECT NUMBER! Yes I DO have it, as do several agencies and trust me the police can get past the generic 'Account Services' department that you people answer the phone with.

I have filed numerous police reports. As have MOST of the people I have come in contact with. Those fraudulent numbers or hijacked caller ID numbers ARE TRACEABLE and your company is NOW being thoroughly investigated by the FTC. You can also ask for a 'track and trace' through phone companies like Time Warner Cable and they will work directly with the police department you are dealing with. I know this, because i am doing it NOW!

Just look at the jumping history of the company and how they change names every six months or so or different states (from Florida to Georgia). Your company IS a scam and eventually EVERYONE involved in the company WILL be brought to investigation, so I would think very carefully about what you write here. It will probably be used against you in judgement. The poster you responded to was right in every account.

If anyone is interested, I can provide a full list of the 'other' names this company goes under or has gone under in the past and then changed to avoid prosecution. I can give you actual NAMES and phone numbers and addresses. I am sure plenty of people are interested.

TRUE VOICE, if are legit, why don't you provide your full line extension number so we can contact you DIRECTLY and asked to be removed from your list as well as your manager so we can file a complaint. You should be proud to work for such a legitimate company, no??? We can't. Want to know why? BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT A LEGITIMATE COMPANY AND USE ILLEGAL PRACTICES! Stand up to the challenge. Give us the direct phone number to you in the company or better yet, give us your full name and number if you have nothing to hide, as well as the licenses your company holds as a 'legitimate' financial institution. Shame on you! Things are bad enough as it is without scam artists like you.

Life is a circle. What goes around comes around. You will get yours.

People, do some simple google searches a 7 year old can do on this company, obviously they are not as bright as they think they are....

VP Marketing IS a legitimate Company...I worked there

AUTHOR: True Voice - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, May 09, 2009

I just finished reading all of the reports concerning VP Marketing and was appalled at what was said. Yes, it is true that group interviews are conducted and that there are no individual interviews that follow, however, there are strenuous background checks on each and every possible potential candidate during and after the interview. If something such as theft or fraud is found that candidate is escorted out by the many security guards (which every previous so called qualified employee has failed to mention) and Marrietta Police Officers to his car and off the premises. Furthermore, phone calls are screened and monitored to ensure that the employees are doing their job.
I have read that there are no employees with degrees just "Ghetto and Unprofessional employees and managers", this is clearly a LIE. Before you make any further comments please make sure you are not who you are talking about. Many of this rebuttals and scam reports are horribly written, bad grammar, incomplete sentences and some did not even use spell check although it is provided therefore I would not believe 1% of the information written.
I am a current employee and I MUST state that there is a Do Not Call list that we do place those who do not want or need our services on. However, most people do not want to provide a phone number so he can not be removed. Also, I read that we prey on the elderly and sick, definitely not the truth. Most older individuals pay off their credit cards in full each month or only use it occasionally. Our prime clientele are married couples who carry an average of 30 thousand in debt if not more who are trying to avoid bankruptcy and consolidation. We do not force anything from anyone, any information provided is given freely. Our services are guaranteed, now if someone stops making his minimum monthly payments late or go over limit the lowered interest rates will increase but at no fault to us.
In response to the people just walking out with your credit card information, it is a LIE. VP Marketing is a high security environment and the floor managers who monitor calls do know what information is received and they stay later to ensure everything is where it should be.
