I am a Desktop Publisher and typeset 3 books for Nick Ligidakis in Phoenix, Arizona. He paid me for the first book, and, during the typing of the others, he opened a new restaurant and I did the menus, etc. for his restaurant.

After finishing the next books, he stopped paying me. I have gone through two collection agencies, to no avail, I filed a civil judgment, won, and am now back at the beginning to get my money.

printed out a list of his tax records, and he already has many liens against properties, along with many judgments.
Apparently he is good at this and continues to not pay. I'm obviously not the only one. What really pisses me off is that he still runs his restaurant (which is in bankruptcy) and charges over $15 a plate for his food! Meanwhile I don't get paid!

I'm just frustrated over this. I have all records. He's been written up in the newspapers. He shows himself as a good citizen because on Thanksgiving he feeds the hungry with turkeys cooked at his restaurant.

Maybe you've even seen him on TV!
Anyway, he owes me approximately $2700.00 and change and I'm just angry about this.

I don't think he should get away with it!

Restaurant Rip-Off

AUTHOR: Thomas C. - ()

POSTED: Thursday, August 08, 2002

I owned a printing shop for five years and was
a printing broker for another fourteen and
one thing I learned early on in the business is to always get 50% down
on the printing order.

You can cover your personal loss, but how about
when you had to have the menus printed. You were
responsible to the printer for payment.

Go to small claims court in your city and ask the clerk if you have any chance of getting your money from this "deadbeat". He has to pay his bills by check. maybe you Put a "lien" on his checking account. The clerk should be able to tell you without going to court.

I have taken three businesses to small claims and won every case. You have to do your homework, have all your paperwork ready in court in case the judge ask you for proof and don't give up on this jerk because that's what he's expecting you to do. He wants to wear you down. I had to go to court on my first case three times because of continuances, but I hung in there and finally got my money. This is a mistake I hope you don't
make again.

Hope this helps!
