Legal Guidelines About Seller's Permits
In general, it is unlawful for any person, to carry on any business, trade, profession, calling, occupation or gainful activity without a seller's permit if the business buys to resell or sells wholesale or retail taxable services or tangible items. A Resale License (same as a sales tax id, wholesale, reseller's or reseller) is the same as a Seller's Permit, Sales Tax Certification, Wholesale License.
Example: you have an online business, computers or clothing online or you are selling online on eBay in California, or any other state and you are wondering whether you need a business license or a seller's permit. If you sell, or lease any taxable items or if you provide any taxable services, you need a sellers permit to buy wholesale tax free. When you sell, you charge taxes (collect taxes) to pay to government later. You also need a seller's permit if the services you provide are taxable to the public.
This is a response to the person who said that if it was illegal, to post information.
This is why wholesmarketer/Doba is not giving you the wholesale prices. Now, they are being the middle man and are giving you access to products that you probably couldn't purchase at a great discount unless you had 100K to drop down. However, this is not a location to use for ebay in my opinion. Im sure that there are people who are doing it. Everything that can be found on their site, EVERYONE has access to.
Do it the right way, get your license and set up drop shipping with a wholesale or distributor of the product you want to sell. It may be a lot of leg work, but it does get a lot more easy if you narrow down what you want to sell on ebay (don't be a walmart, everyone can get everything at walmart, why go to ebay?) Anyway, I purchased a membership from them in January. I thankfully didn't spend 300 dollars for what they wanted and was being a hard sell, and paid $150.00. Im sure if you had hours on end to look at all these products, there are things hidden that you can sell. I have found it to be more easy by going to the mall, researching popular items and contacting a wholesale distributor and going from there and making a profit.
I want more of a profit margin than doba/wholesale marketer wants to give me.
Plus, drop shipping inself, unless you want to keep an identical item on hand, this could leave your ebay feed back in jeopardy.
I am making this as a Buyer beware. Do it on your own!!!
If I was asked to do it again, I wouldn't bother. I would spend the money and set up my own business from square one.

Doba - I tried their 7 day trial membership and...
AUTHOR: Zara - (United Kingdom)

Doba AKA Wholesale Marketeer, My trial experience with them was good. I've tried quite a few Dropshipping programs and I signed up for the Companies 7 day trial, after that it is $29 -$39 Dollars a month to remain a member, I checked out their Terms of Service/ Conditions of use during the trial & didn't find any glaringly obvious problems for the dropshipper reseller - their postage costs are reasonable & the price of goods & your profit margin is still quite slim, but overall I felt comfortable with the prices & felt confident that they would provide a good service to any potential customer.
They have accounts with all the top wholesale disributors in the states, gathered in one place for resellers to make use of - the main wholesale distributors are happy to accept their custom, knowing it will be resold to resellers - which surely means Doba must have agreed to the terms of sale & legal requiremnts as set out by the direct distributors.
The only thing I think this company need to sort out (if they haven't done it already with the new make over)is sort out the product images they supply - resellers are given instructions on how to find the images via Google, where as I always take any images direct from the supplier - to use for "the purpose of aiding the sale only"
this keeps in with the majority of terms & conditions of image use / Copy write issues as described in those terms.
To sell goods effectivley you need good stock images, as I person on a low income myself, I can't afford to buy each product & photograph it myself - so I make use of what any dropship merchant gives.
Most direct wholesaler's I have dealings with are genuine Companies that are interested in makeing a profit (naturally!) & supporting their resellers - so I don't think it fair to 'tar all with the same brush' - I never did join Doba, but I think they are better than some - further down the chain - I think they might supply Universal Banner Network - which isn't so good, but do they or are bigger direct wholesalers allowing this to carry on unchecked ??? - this would imply that bigger Corperations are 'white labelling' (keeping their identity secret)products & services for less than ethical reasons.... which opens up a whole new can of worms.
