I purchased a Dockers leather belt.  The belt states Genuine Leather Upper, Bonded Leather Lining.  After a few weeks, the belt started peeling.  It is NOT leather, it is vinyl, very cheap quality.  I have bought nice leather belts at Walmart that have lasted many years.  The Dockers belt was more expensive, cheap material and only lasted a few weeks.  To call it leather is definitely false advertisement.

If the belt is truly NOT bonded leather, report your findings to the FTC.

Advertising it as such would then be fraud.  BTW, my office chair is bonded leather and does exhibit some stretchiness.

You can file a report online with the FTC.

Dockers Belt is NOT Bonded Leater As Stated

AUTHOR: Hunter - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, March 26, 2014

This Dockers Belt is NOT Leather (bonded or otherwise).  I have had bonded leather belts in the past.  This belt is manmade material and the coating is vinyl.  The coating STRETCHES like a balloon.  It is NOT leather of any kind.

Bonded leather is real leather leftovers that are bonded back into larger pieces...

They are then bonded to a, usually, fibrous material.  They are a thin veneer of real leather, but are definitely an inferior item.  Bonded leather furniture, if made with quality materials and construction can be fairly durable, but as you've found, I wouldn't want a bonded leather belt.  If the working, "bonded leather" is on the product, it's not a false adversisment.

Be sure to be aware of the differences in the future.
