COMPLAINT INFORMATION

We purchased a car on Ebay that was advertised as "pristine","in need of nothing", and "tires like new all around". The car was delivered on October 24.

My wife noticed a scary steering problem upon acceleration the car would swerve to the right and then swerve back to the left when the accelerator was let off. She was lucky not to be in traffic.

She took it to the local Chrysler dealer after driving less than one mile. They advised us not to drive the car until they could get it in because it was to dangerous. They eventually found a bad wheel bearing.

There was a half inch play in that wheel and as a result the two front tires were badly worn (one almost to the cords) the other two had less than 10,000 miles left on them so we had to replace all four and get the front aligned(out of pocket over $900).

In addition the front headlight moldings were falling off the two front speakers were blown, and one power window doesn't work properly.

I called Tony the salesman and he acted like it was my fault for expecting too much. I reminded him that my expectations were based solely on the ad that he wrote. he then said that he drove the car on three 200 mile trips and it was fine. I suggested that this wasn't true because Carfax showed that he put less than twenty miles on the car.

He finally agreed to pay for the wheel bearing, front headlight moldings and the two speakers. I agreed to pay for the tires if he would do that. Three weeks later after not hearing from him we started trying to call him and every day we were told that he would call back but he didn't. We then filed a complaint with Square Trade but since 98% of his customers are satisfied they won't do anything and we are let at his mercy.

He now has offered to only pay for the wheel bearing. He says we are trying to "extort" money from him and "nit picking" and that these problems are "normal wear" on a vehicle. I agree they are but he should have told us about them in the ad instead of saying the car "is in need of nothing". Since he won't honor his agreement we are now asking for 50% of the cost of the "like new" tires also.

All we want is the car in the condition it was advertised to be in.

I have notarized statements from four other people who have had some major problems with this company.
