I'm from Winnipeg Canada. I purchased a 2000 Toyota Camry LE on ebay from this seller. Now they are no longer on ebay or Auto Trader and phone calls are not answered/returned.
In my February 4th. telephone call to Jill (of the seller) she confirmed that she received my bank draft for payment in full on January 31, 2008 and would send me the original bill of sale by overnight courier so I could register my vehicle in my home province. Never received, have never received.
On January 28, 2008 when I called after I had won the auction, Jill told me that the title had been applied for on January 23, 2008. On February 4, 2008 she told me that they had just applied for the title because they don't apply for titles until cars are paid for. I'm don't know which is true, if any.
My situation at this writing is that my fully paid for car sits somewhere unkown to me and, the seller who is to deliver it to me has vanished. I have not been able to leave a telephone message for them to call me as their voice mailbox was full and now it just switches to a busy tone. I'm scheduled to pick-up the car on February 13, 2008 at 3:30pm but I've got no idea how that is going to play out re: the above. I will keep trying to reach them by phone.
I have sought legal and police advice in this matter and have been instructed that since the car is paid for in full, I should proceed to delivery date in order for the seller to fullfil its' obligation. Only after the seller defaults in its' obligation can the authorities proceed.
If anyone has any info. on this seller that you'd like to share, please email me at (((REDACTED FOR SECURITY PURPOSES))) or you can call ***. I will be updating this report after Feb. 13, 2008 and hopefully, there is an explanation to these unfortunate events.

what you had bought. There is a small % charge.
I once tried to buy a Honda Accord on ebay... maybe 2002? The seller canceled the auction 5 minutes before it was to close .... because, he admitted, the auction price wasn't high enough. He felt this was more fair to the customer than using shills to pump up the price. I never again tried to buy a car, boat, etc. on ebay. I felt that if the buyer could be forced to pay up by ebay, then the seller should also be forced to complete the auction and resulting sale that the buyer entered in good faith. That entire scene, in spite of many sellers' complaints, is simply too one-sided for my taste.
But heck, in my mind Toyotas (and Hondas) do not depreciate fast enough to buy them used. I only buy new, with the attemt above being my only exception. Our 2007 Camry V6 with VSC has a "retail value" today equal to what I had paid for it new over a year ago. The VSC adds nothing to resale value, so if I had not sprung for the $500 VSC option, the car would supposedly be worth MORE than I paid!
Good luck on your adventure!
