Dolphinaris built a dolphin swim facility in Barcelo Maya. Actually they built an average sized swimming pool and put four fully grown adult dolphins side it. Dolphinaris are expensive and charge ridiculous prices for photos, the idea is that you are not allowed to bring your own cameras to the dolphin-park and that you have to pay a small fortune for the photos.

Barcelo Maya lied during the construction of the Dolphinaris dolphin swim facility, they told everyone who asked questions about the construction of the pool that it was a pool for divers. Since the Dolphinaris dolphin-park has opened there has been a barrage of negative opinions and posts of protest on the Barcelo Maya facebook page. Barcelo Maya have deleted all posts that ask simple questions such as "Where did the dolphins come from?" "Why is there no shade (as dolphins are prone to severe sun burn in shallow water)".

Barcelo Maya claim to be support the environment and sustainability but they have taken four highly intelligent mammals that swim 50 miles a day in the open ocean and put them inside a shallow swimming pool with no shade to make money.
