I went to Domestic Auto Experts and had all four shocks and a complete front and back brake systems put in. That was around three or four grand, just to begin with. The engine intake manifold broke before that, and that was about two thousand something. They supposedly replaced and fixed that and charged me thousands of dollars for everything. The whole ordeal came to about four thousand hard-earned bucks before they were through ripping my bank account's, and innocent blue-collar/worker motorist's "mechanicee" cherry. Not less than ten months later this same intake manifold cracked or the gasket went out and they wanted another grand or two from me.

I called the Tomball location's manager and he gave me all sorts of bull about how the car had 30,000 more miles on it. I asked if the work was defective, to begin with, and then he asked if he could drop the price down to 900.00 and tried to string me out on one of their car repair loans with interest. Needless to say, they fired my favorite service rep, and they didn't even say why when I asked, "What happened to him?" I ended up taking my vehicle to a salvage/auction/body shop mechanic I've trusted for a long time and the same repair ran me about 300.00. God Bless the Pakistanis and their salvage cars. Without them I'd be at the mercy of Domestic Satanist Leachy Auto Experts. They can take their internet pictures of them leaching you, and your poor car, and put them on their My Space or U-Tube fan club following group for all I car.

Domestic Auto Experts are horrendous swindlers. They WILL NOT LIVE UPTO PREVIOUS WORK AND THEY CHARGE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FOR ANY SERIOUS WORK THEY HAVE TO DO. OWNER OF DOMESTIC AUTO EXPERTS, YOU'RE A CROOK WHO SHOULD BE ASHAMED. MAY YOU ROT FOR YOUR CAR REPAIR SHYSTS ON YOUR TRUSTING MIDDLE-CLASS CLIENTELE! SHAME ON YOU! Domestic Auto Experts should have a class-action lawsuit waged against them and they should be shut down. They are the badest of the worst crooked sterotypical mechanics. Domestic Auto Experts give the entire sometimes honorable trade of mechanics an attrociously bad stereotype. Other mechanics should shame them into going out of business.

#4 UPDATE EX-employee responds

It's not always sunshine and roses

AUTHOR: Brent - (U.S.A.)

Being an ex employee of the company I can understand frustration with the "song and dance" show that sometimes seems to be put on, at the end it does give an dishonest feel because of that sometimes. But, despite my own personal feelings on some "tactics" used, I would have to say that they are the most honest auto repair company out there a the moment, expensive? yeah, but they do stand behind their work, so what was the reason they gave you for not completing the repair under warranty?

I just read your report blasting 2 other auto repair places just a few minute ago and the last one was Champion car care and the date was the same as the one you have on your post here. Is there a shop that you are even welcome at in town because you seem to hate them all. is this a shop problem or (and they do exist) a bad customer problem.

The Owner of Domestic Auto Experts is an unrepentant Eternal Swindler Galore!

AUTHOR: Archie C. - (U.S.A.)

But you have to admit you've never seen such an excellent mental anesthesia to a swindle. These mechanic/grifters provide you free sodas, an assuring grin and firm handshake, internet pictures of your repairs, and ten dollar a day rental cars. All so they can take your last penny when it comes time to pay for the finished repairs. They did excellent work, they just gouge you to nothing when it comes time to pay for it. They should be shut down. Now. A civil litigating attorney should file the class-action lawsuit, if the owner of Domestic Auto Experts doesn't go into bankruptcy beforehand.

I'm in agreement with you, completely, they charged outrageous prices on me for shockes, bracks, and an intake manifold. Needless to say, the same(likely used salvage parts obtained) engine intake manifold later busted or cracked and I had water and steam atop my engine. It was only eight months, or 30,000 miles later and their mentally retarded and obtuse thinking manager refused to honor their shoddy work, in terms of making right and repairing the faulty repair work/used part to begin with. Shame on Domestic Auto Experts. Pilferers, scoundrels, slueths, rouges who belittle the auto mechanic trade and craft! SHAME ON THE OWNER. YOU NEED TO SHUT DOWN YOUR BUSINESS BEFORE YOU ARE SUED!

2nd hand insider information.

As I mentioned when I posted yesterday, I have a very good friend who used to work for Domestic Auto Experts. He told me all sorts of good stuff about what really goes on inside their stores.

For example, they have a labor rate of $109.95 per hour!!! I can go to the dealer and get a much better price on labor and the dealer uses original O.E. Parts.

Speaking of parts, they will tell the customer that they use only dealer quality or better parts. I challenge you to go online and look up an Air-Tex waterpump and see what it costs. Then compare that price to what Domestic sells it for.

Finally, their parts mark-up is 4 times. If they buy something for $25, then they sell it for $100. $100 items get sold for $400 and so on.
