I was ripped-off by DOMESTIC AUTO EXPERTS located at 19920 Morton Rd, Katy, TX 77449
They charged me $ 541.41 to replace one control arm containing the ball joint on my old 1991 Lexus ES-250. The part that was replaced was a regular part that is available at any Auto parts store for only $ 50.
When I talked with the manager he said that the reason why they charge that much is because they are better than everyone else and they are allowed to mark-up the cost of parts from 3 to 7 times. In addition, their labor rate is billed at $ 109.99 /hour (their mechanics went to medical school). When I asked the manager why they charge more than the Lexus dealer, he replied: "Because we are better than the Lexus dealer" ...Bulll!
There are other neighbors in my subdivision who have similar horror stories with Domestic Auto Experts and have since taken their business elsewhere.
Domestic Auto Experts of Katy, Texas should be forced out of business for robbing people and charging hospital rates for simple auto repairs.
The only reason for telling my story is to WARN my neighbors on the North Fry Road area and prevent them from becoming victims of Domestic Auto Experts.
I do not expect anyone to believe me, call your own mechanic or any auto parts store and you will se that this is a legitimate complain
Please ask your own mechanic or go to http://www.topix.net/forum/autos/ford-explorer/T9PQVP4CBMP2F6OAF to see the cost of replacement of one control arm with ball joints and verify that this was indeed an outright rip-off.

WE NEED TO SUE THEM OUT OF BUSINESS, THE KATY AND TOMBALL LOCATIONS! I GOT CHARGED THOUSANDS!

We need to come together and class action Domestic Auto Experts. I'm convinced of this. They charged me upwardso of four grand, for shocks, breaking system, and an intake manifold, or just the gasket even, that just eight months later, and 30,000 miles later they refused to replace when it gave out AGAIN! After I'd already dumped grands on them. They rent you the cheap rental car and then they backstab you, in spinelessly outrageous pricing, until you can't even buy groceries, much less get back to work with the sloppy and shoddy crappy work they do, supposedly that which you can watch online. The only thing I ever observed online was their service reps laughing about writing out four grand on a sales room meeting's chalkboard. DOMESTIC AUTO EXPERTS SHOULD BE SUED OUT OF EXISTANCE. WHERE'S AN ATTORNEY WITH ENOUGH COURAGE TO BECOME THEIR CURSE? SHUT THEM DOWN! THEY'VE SWINDLED TOO MANY MIDDLE-CLASSED CONSUMERS OUT OF FOOD MONEY!

Complains Are Too Time Consuming!

Filing a complaint against when a consumer is disatisfied with the service is a super time consuming task suitable for those that have plenty of time. Mine is just too precious; therefore I am dropping any further updates or answering any question.

Submitting a complain when a consumer is unhappy with the service is a very time consuming task. For busy people it is more productive to call at least three mechanics and get an estimate first --do not fall for the old trick that the repair must be done right away; or that it is a life or death situation.

You are comparing a ford Explorer to a Lexus??? These two vehicles are totally different on parts and labor.
