I rented a coop apartment through Dominion Management and consistently received poor customer service from one of their employees, Sotha Oum Thoeun (avoid her if you choose to lease through Dominion).

Our lease ended at the end of June 2011 but we were charged $1500 to pay for rent for July 2011 (they used $1500 that we put down for our "last month's rent" before we moved in). Sotha claimed that we were still living in the apartment after June which was absolutely not true.

I kindly and professionally tried to resolve this issue with her, and after going back and forth trying to understand what had happened, she rudely told me that she was "tired of going back and forth with me" and wouldn't reply to any more of my emails. I asked her, "are you not responsible for resolving this?", to which she replied "call my supervisor". When I called, I found out she was out of town until the next week, so I asked to speak with Sotha. The receptionist told me that Sotha refused to speak with me. I was shocked by her audacity and gross unprofessionalism!

In addition to this mess, I did not receive my security deposit until months after my lease ended. When I emailed about it, Sotha told me that she "didn't have an address to send it to", which is wrong - I gave it to her months before. Anyway, again she ridiculously didn't contact me about this and instead I had to figure out what went wrong.

I was sent back my security deposit, but not a $500 additional deposit I made. I had to look back in my personal documentation to realize that I was owed not only this $500 deposit, but also $1500 because we had accidentally paid our last month's (June's) rent twice. When I realized that, I contacted Sotha, and the whole fiasco involving her foolishly acting out occurred.

*** UPDATE *** I contacted the owner, Bradley Rinzler, today and he gave in a bit and offered me $100 (I suppose he knows he screwed up). Out of $1500, that is just unacceptable, I told him. He told me not to call back and hung up on me. Now, I can't even reach anyone at the company. The receptionist yelled, "I don't care! Let the games begin!" when I told her I wouldn't stop calling until I got my money back. They flat out stole from me. I've never even once had an experience close to as bad as this one with any other company. They are a bunch of lunatics. Not a single one has been rational, fair, or professional through this. I'll have to sue.
