Don Baskin Truck Sales is very sketchy!!! I just wanted to buy a truck, but they validated all of the bad reviews in one phone call. Covington Tennessee

I have been the owner of a small trucking company since 1996. I buy trucks that are a few years old but still have low enough mileage to qualify for an aftermarket Premium 2000 engine warranty.  During this time period, I have purchased between 15 and 20 trucks from dealers all over the country.  Since I have such a small fleet of trucks, I try to do as much research as possible in order to minimize the risk of winding up with astronomical repair bills.  I read reviews on the truck sales business, research the engine (if I have no personal knowledge of it) and do a vin check on DigRig.com to verify the vehicle's history.

I read the reviews on Don Baskin Truck Sales and though they were very unfavorable there weren't that many.  I was ready to chalk the bad comments up to inexperienced buyers who really don't know what to look for in trucks.  Boy, was I wrong!

I called Don Baskin's to set up a test drive for a 2007 International w/895K miles that I was interested in purchasing.  They were quick to set an appointment for a test drive and tell me how much I would love this truck.  I asked if they sold the Premium 2000 warranty (most dealers do), they said no and I told them that was no problem as I could take it to the closest dealer (about 25 miles) where I would have it checked out, of course at my expense, and purchase the warranty.  They said, NO!! that I would only be allowed to test drive it for 5 - 10 miles.  I truly did not believe the other reviewer's claims that Baskin ONLY sold trucks with big problems, but now I do.  This place is very sketchy!!  Do not fall for low prices & pretty pictures!!  Stay away!!!!  They could ruin a first time owner operator in one day.
