I bought a used 2004 Honda Odyssey Van from Don Davis Nissan in Grapevine in June 2007. As a part of the deal, the dealership offered a free oil change at any Don Davis dealership.

When I went in for an oil change at Don Davis Ford Service center, they changed it and was very pleasant. I was satisfied with their work until a few months later. My van started leaking oil.

I took my van into WalMart service center. The technician there refused to change my oil. I was informed that the plug to my oil pan was stripped and I needed a new oil pan. I was also told to return to the place I had it changed last.

So I called Don Davis Ford to inform them of the news. The young man I talked to on the phone was very nice and told me to take my van to a Honda Dealership near my house to confirm the problem.

I took my van in to the Honda Dealership in Lewisville. They confirmed that I needed a new oil pan since the plug was stripped. It would cost me $450. So my husband went to Don Davis Dodge since he was referred there. They replaced the oil and put teflon tape on the screw to hold it in place.

Any mechanic would know that oil dissolves teflon. So my van kept leaking oil. I could not find anyone who was willing to change my oil since my oil pan had to be replaced and they did not want to be held responsible for it.

So I returned to Don Davis Dodge to get them to change the oil since they did it the last time. They refused to do it and told me to go back to Don Davis Ford since they are responsible for the problem to begin with.

My husband called Don Davis Ford. It took 2 weeks to get a hold of anyone and get an answer. The assistant service manager said no, they would not replace it for free of charge since they did not know if we were lying. My husband discussed this with the service manager himself. He refused to help us, too. So we went above him and they finally agreed to pay for the labor but we had to pay for the oil pan, the $100 service fee (whatever that was) and the oil change. So we paid over $200 for the repair, which we have been fighting them for 6 months.

I felt ripped off since they were the ones who stripped the plug. Don Davis Ford is blaming the Honda Dealership for the leak and stripping. We reminded them that it was leaking and was stripped before that. They were not willing to admit their mechanic or technician who changed my oil did a lousy job. What has happened to customer service?

I have driven three different Honda vehicles for a period of 10 years now. I have never had a problem with my car/van until I went to Don Davis Ford. They were rude, irresponsible and do not know how to change the oil in a Honda. So I will never go back to any Don Davis dealership or do any business with them again.

My next step is to take my van to the Honda Dealership to have the Don Davis Ford repair checked out. I do not trust them.
