I had ordered a cake with the silhouette of a 'black' woman with a Mohawk, big booty, knocked knees, holding a chain with a man attached. When i saw the cake it looked like a 'green monster' from head to toe with a dog attached to the chain. I told the owner that I could not present this cake to the bride to be at her bridal shower, looking the way it did. He told me that he did not time to make another one and that there was no other cakes that I could take from the store. I asked for my money back and he told me that there was no money at the store and that he would cut me a check either Monday or Tuesday. My name and address was taken down on the back of my order form and I still had to go out and find a cake for the bridal party which started in four hours. The cake that I had to purchase was much smaller and cheaper than the one I wanted.

The following Tuesday morning I called Krause Katering to see if the check had been sent out, as I was previously informed that the check would be mailed to me. The secretary told me that he was not cutting the check and I told her that I was coming to talk to the owner. I wanted to let him know that I had an anniversary party the following weekend and needed the money to prepare for that. He told me me that he was not giving me my money because he had put time and effort into the cake. At that time, I called the police. He told me and the police that he would be giving me a gift receipt. I did not want the gift receipt and the police asked if policy stated that a gift receipt would be given. He told the police, "no". At that time, I told the police that I wanted nothing else but my money back. The owner said, "no". The officer told me to take him to court.
