I am currently an unemployed student.  I was looking for an opportunity to make some money without having to work 30 plus hours weekly so that I could survive and maintain my myself.  Apparantly this is some sort of scam involving bad checks.  I just received the check that was supposed to be for my first shopping job at Walmart.  According to the email I received I am supposed to take this check to the bank and deposit the funds in my account and they will be available tomorrow for use with the mystery shopping job.

I went online to google the company because I had not been to the website and could not find it when I just typed in the information.  There was a phone number listed on the Fedex envelope which I just called and not surprisingly, the phone number is disconnected.  Imagine that?

I am going to take this check to my bank to have it evaluated and attempt to see if it is a bad check and if there is any way to pursue charges of some kind against the individual who is perpetrating this scam.  I for one can not afford to be bilked out of 1580.00 dollars that I just do not have.

The emails that he sends out tell you that you have been hired and that you will receive the funds for your first mystery shopping event at Walmart and that the remaining funds should be sent to the next mystery shopper on the list.  That sounded a little off to me anyway.  Why would an employee be responsible for forwarding the money to the next person?  Why would the company not be sending out the money themselves to each individual??

The previous person who reported this on ripoffreport.com posted a copy of the email that she received.  It was the exact one that I received, word for word.  Whatever you do avoid ShoppingViewpointInternational.com and anyone named Don Ragland.  If this is a scam, I intend to shut him down if there is any way possible.
