Ms. Stillwell at Dorrance speaks of this matter as a fun thing, the promotions agreed to. The fun Ms. Stillwell is referring to must be during the contract negotiations when I tried to get the books purchased at 50% off in order to make a profit. I was then told I did not have to sell any Dorrance would take care of all of that, the only thing needed of me was to do book signings and interviews that Dorrance would set up for me if I would and to return the tax statement to get paid . I agreed to do whatever was set up; it made me feel real good and that motivated me to spent eight thousand dollars (48 pages) to get my work published and promoted.
I have statements showing from book sellers showing Durance’s nonperformance of offering my book on consignment as agreed to in my contract. Offers for book signings would not be accepted in Barnes & Noble or Books-a-Million in the manner my book was listed, so why are they used in the contract as a hook? My book was banned from the shelves of stores listed?
From the 815 contacts in the news media claimed to have been made, I have not been able to obtain any names contacted for interviews according to our contract. None of the libraries or other book sellers checked knew anything of my book. I have been told by Michael Knapp the promotion rep those listed he claimed to have been contacted must have forgotten and that he may or may not have received promotions but they know where they can find the information for my book.
Dorrance should be held accounted for the contract signed and not some so-called favors that are yet to be proven.
Instead of the endless blaming of all others involved, proof of performance would be preferred. The contract states what I paid for and the seriousness of what’s contained in my book shows how ridiculous Ms. Stillwell sounds when she speaks of a fun thing. Contrary to what Ms. Stillwell has fixated in her mind, spending $8000 and not getting what I paid for is not a fun thing. No promotions was like test driving a car and after purchasing the vehicle, you find the motor is not included.
