we were recommended to this company by another person so i called them to arrange a lanlords gas safety check on one of our rental properties, it was all arranged and paid for over the phone, at the time of booking they told me they had computer issues so the would have to take all my details manually so it would take a little longer than usual, so i asked how the procedure would go and they said that if for what ever reason it failed they would call me and if i did not recieve a call i would get the certificate through the post.

so after six weeks i still had not recieved the gas safety certificate i gave them a call and asked politely over the phone as to why i hadn't recieved the certificate, he said he would call me back as he would need to look up my details. after about 10 mins i recieved a call from the engineer who visited the property and he told me it had failed due to the fact of the boiler flue was at fault much to my supprise as the boiler was only fitted 18 months ago. and had been recertified a year previous by a different company.

i was very annoyed at this point due to the fact of no phone call 6 weeks previous, now my tenants are possibly living in a dangerous house and the building has been uninsured due to DORSET PLUMBING negligence, the engineer said he didn't call me due to a computer problem and they didn't have my number. they must of had my number as they had the address to go for the gas safety check, the tenants were at home who had my number and his boss looked up my details to find the correct engineer who went to my house. at this point i got even more angry and immediately asked for a refund due to the company not completing their contract of sale. the engineer told me that he would have to call his boss then call me back. i might of shouted at the engineer due to being very annoyed at the situation they have put me in but i was no way abusive

about ten minutes later i get his boss call me back threaten me and being very abusive towards me for me apparently being abusive to his staff which i clearly pointed out that i was no way abusive but i might of shouted at him, but wouldn't he due to the situation his company had left me in. then i pointed out all of the facts and only the facts as to what had been arranged with him over the phone, the very serious situation his company had put me in, how disgusted, un professional his company is,

then he started threaten to come round my house and sort me out, then he was inviting me round to his property for a fight then he threatened to shoot me. i mean i should be the person doing that after the situation they have left me in.

after this i am contacting watchdog to report him and on monday morning i am going to call consumer direct to find out legally how i stand.

i would not recommend this company to anybody and to put the record straight i had a company out today who passed the house so DORSET PLUMBING were just trying to rip me off for money, i will promise to keep this updated and even if they change their company name i will add this as and when they do!!!!!!

just a little response to the owner of DORSET PLUMBING's owner

the tenants of the house were not informed to contact me as i have asked them and asked the rental agency who rent the property out for me, 
 
yes like i said before i did shout at the engineer but i was in no way abusive  i didn't have a problem if the boiler had failed it was more due to the fact that no body even tried to contact me as they took my home address, my rental address, my mobile number and my home telephone number and i only booked the appointment the day before they went out to inspect the boiler.

the reason it needed checking after 6 months of being installed was due to the fact the rental agents needed a landlords gas safety certificate as i didn't have one because i was living in the property previously and did not need a landlords certificate.

the engineer didn't end the call he understood my point of view and told me he would get his boss to call me back which he did in a THREATENING AND ABUSIVE MANOR!!!!! i never swore at the engineer or at his ABUSIVE BOSS i only pointed out the facts of what had happened and he didn't like it because he knew he was in the wrong!!!

The boiler was  installed by a big plumbing company that has been around for over 25 years and has been inspected by 2 separate engineers who have both confirmed that it is safe and should of passed the previous inspection, there have never been any faults with the boiler and no work needed to be carried out to pass the gas safety inspection gas safe are more than welcome to contact me and their registered engineer who has written the certificate for more information he also has a few stories to tell them about DORSET PLUMBING gas safety certificates but i am not allowed to give more details.

i am still waiting for a letter from DORSET PLUMBING solicitors but i very much doubt i ever will recieve one

I remember this customer very well he did indeed book a gas safety inspection with us and the boiler did fail, unfortunately when the booking was taken we did have some computer issues and his number was not saved ,but the tenant was asked to tell the landlord to contact us. 

The customer did phone up 6 weeks later to chase the certificate so i had my engineer call him to explain what was wrong with it and he went crazy saying the boiler had to be ok as it was only installed under a year ago contradicting his 18 months, my engineer responded saying that it would not need to be checked if it was under a year old which is quite true, but the customer was not listening to any reason so my engineer ended the call and informed me. 

I phoned the customer trying to see what we could do ,but he was just shouting at me for his money back 35.00 plus vat I informed him he has paid for a check and he got one same as when you mot your car if it fails you still have to pay he was very abusive and threatening and i am a great believer in treating people how they treat you we are not here for customers to swear at or threaten and I will not stand for it. 

Under no circumstances was we trying to rip him off we would not even work on that boiler if he asked, it had been installed very badly we see this all the time they get a mate to install a boiler over the weekend then call out a gas safe engineer to do a gas safety on it, we will not sign off a bad install and he might of found someone who has signed it off now, but they will be sorry as i have passed the details on to the health and safety executive and reported it to Gas Safe as he even says faults where rectified a year ago which is 8 months after it was installed so why would it need to be rectified if installed by a gas safe engineer. 

I have also checked with building control and there is no record of a boiler being fitted at that property. The law clearly states all new boilers have to be registered with the local authority. 

We carry out around 2000 gas safety inspections a year and work for most of the major estate agents in the area and have never received any complaints. I have passed this report and all the details to our solicitor and will spare no expense on bringing this customer to court for slander
