I was associated with Doug Pope and his company Amelia Research and Recovery for about two years. They are a treasure hunter outfit based out of Amelia Island Florida. Stay far away from this company. Doug and his associates will do anything they can to get a $10000 investment out of you and the money will never go into where they say. Over the two years I was there I witnessed and was apart of sever contract jobs to "make money for the company” instead the money went to unneeded property, Doug’s home remodel and several cars.
Very little of the money that company makes goes into the ship they own that would be condemned by the coast guard if it was ever inspected. If you were thinking about becoming an investor in this company DO NOT buy into it. You will never see your money back and the chances of you getting to go out and treasure hunt our slim to none. There are some amazing hard working employees in this company but they are in a stranglehold from the two managing member Charles "Doug” Pope and Butch Elliot.
