Tenants looking to obtain Section 8 housing in Colorado.  State they are a disabled family and ARE receiving SS benefits and other government benefits by lying.

They postpone paying rent or signing lease stating they are obtaining funds from the government and expect funds soon.  State they send money, etc. in express mail and actually send mail then recall it before you can receive it.

Persons state they are self employed, computer savy, sell medical marihuana, etc. and state they are trying to help you also.  They obviously search out properties in pre-forclosure.

Mr. is very handy and knowledgeable and a good con.  Mrs. comes in and states she is ready to go to surgery for female problems, but never actually goes.  Request all of the usual school, utility, comunity info. prior to moving.  Apeal to your heart to let them move in before they pay you.

In the end, turn around and use scare tactics and state they will take your home or sue you for thousands, I assume this is to keep you from persuing them.  Grand County, Loveland Housing Authority, Ft. Collins, Gilpin County, Clear Creek County are all familiar with these people.

Rented a house that was in foreclosure

 Mary Soroka(aka Linda) tried to lease my family a house at 4802 upper Apex that was in foreclosure. We do have section 8 housing assistance through the Housing Authority of Colorado. During their process of getting Mary Soroka set up with the Housing Authority for the monthly payments and the contract with the state she got caught trying to rent a home in foreclosure.

 Mary Soroka got caught trying to rip my family off by the Housing Authority "not me" when they did their verification process to rent to a section 8 client. If it wasn't for the Housing Authority Mary Soroka would have gotten away with it and we would have lost our $$$.

We had already sent Mary Soroka a USPS money order for $1900 on Oct 3rd 2009. We sent it overnight via USPS. Here is the email from Mary Soroka sent to me on Oct 4th at 6:53am....

Stephanie I was contacted by BofA this morning and they are requiring that I pay $5010 dollars to get the house out of foreclosure and I cannot pay that much right now. Sorry  I do not know what to tell you, You will have to move because of the Housing Authority's rules that state I cannot rent to you. Sorry for your troubles.. Thank you for the payment you sent..

I had contacted USPS when they opened in Black Hawk Co and asked if the envelope had been delivered as the tracking # said it was in St Louis and I asked about recalling the envelope...Due to a storm that Missouri had on that day, Oct 4th, there was a delay and the envelope had not yet been delivered to Mary Soroka.  We were able to recall the envelope once we provided the USPS Post Master with a letter from the Housing Authority stating there was a problem and that the agreement between the Housing Authority, us, and Mary Soroka was now void. Had there not been a delay by USPS due to the weather, we would have lost the $1900 we sent Mary Soroka.

 We were also notified by the Housing Authority on Oct 4th 2009 and we were told that the house located at 4802 upper Apex was in foreclosure and we were not allowed to rent it. The Housing Authority also contacted Mary Soroka and told her that she could not rent 4802 upper Apex to anyone until it was out of foreclosure and that if she did rent it it was a crime.

I feel as though Mary Soroka intended to rip us off by getting our money even though Mary Soroka knew it would not stop the foreclosure proceedings. We also know that she did not qualify for any assistance from the GOV due to the fact that this was not her primary residence and she was unemployed and had been unemployed for multiple years, and with bad credit she had no chance of saving the home from the bank ever. Mary Soroka did not seem to care that she was committing a crime and would have to answer to her actions in court...

In Colorado it is illegal to rent, lease, or sublease a property that is in any phase of foreclosure, in which this house is in foreclosure it is a criminal act a FELONY to be exact.  We contacted County Sheriffs office to inquire about it and yes we made a report to them about the current situation and filed a criminal complaint against Mary Soroka with the help of the Housing Authority.

We also learned Mary Soroka had legal issues also with a couple of counties in Co, and Mary Soroka is wanted by the Sheriffs Office with warrants dating back to 2001 that she needed to resolve.

 We obtained the signed lease Mary Soroka sent to the Housing Authority as Mary Soroka no longer had the ability to rent to us,,,, We obtained it for use in our civil case against Mary Soroka for fraudulently trying to lease a foreclosed property and for trying to deceive the Housing Authority in the amount of $18,200, the amount of the lease plus court costs and fees, that was filed in County District Civil Court, With all the emails and other evidence we compiled We won our civil case against Mary Soroka and Mary Soroka was ordered to pay $18,200 to us on September 5th 2011. Mary Soroka was no able to pay the court ordered amount and now has a judgement against her. Mary Soroka has paid $4870 to us but as of 11/5/12 Mary Soroka has not paid anything in more than 10 months....

As for the rest of Mary Soroka's lies...

We are a family with disabilities, We do have section 8 housing assistance and have had it since 1998, so we were not looking for housing assistance in Co. We already had it... We do receive SS and that was approved by a administrative Law Judge in 1999. Me and my female problems were taken care of with a total hysterectomy at the ripe old age of 29.. We are not self employed and do not sell MMJ...

Mary(aka Linda) Soroka has used this site to try and get revenge and retaliate against me and my family because she got caught by the state and was criminally charged with several crimes and was also ordered to pay $$$$ to us.....
