I ordered from Doxy online on August 29, 2008 and received a confirmation that day. Then on September 2, 2008 my credit card was charged but the status of my order was still not listed as processed. I emailed the company but no reply.
Then I called the numbers listed on their webite which were disconnected. Now they have removed their phone numbers and the site states "technical difficulties". I filed a complaint online with the Attorney General of Missouri and notified Doxy that I was cancelling my order and demanded a refund as well as letting them know I had reported them.
Apparently the Attorney General complaint got their attention. First they told me my item was out of stock (a lie), and told me my debit card had just been authorized (another lie). Then they emailed me today and said they had released my pre-authorization but since it wasn't one and was a payment, I have not received my refund.
This company has already been investigated and instructed to cease operating this way but continue. I hope to get my money back. The Attorney General of Missouri said that I would get it.

Doxy refunded my money today. The complaint to the Attorney General apparently got their attention. For anyone who is considering ordering online, be sure and check out the companies ahead of time and spread the word if you run into a website that operates this way. This is the first time in online shopping that I have been dupped but it does happen.
