Dr Bashir Chowdry MD Unethical billing practices. I was told I only owed 1000.00 after co ins and deductible. When I called to make my final payment was told I owed $15,000.00 1 year after surgery. I never received a bill from these people Las Vegas nv 89121 Nv

 In May 2013 Dr Bashir Chowdrey performed an emergency femoral artery bypass. Were received authorization from our insurance company United Healthcare the day of the surgery. I was told by Dr Chowdry's office that they were in network and the surgery would be covered. I never received a bill from the doctor. On around October 2013 I received a letter stating that I owed 1000.00 after deductible and co insurance. I made $200.00 per month payment arrangements. When I went to make my final payment I was told I owed $15,000 and that they were out of network and the insurance isn't paying all of the bill. I checked with my insurance company and I paid my out of pocket maximum for an out of network provider and they paid 7700.00. My insurance company told me they are balance billing me. I attempted to call the office to explain that the insurance company doesn't cover assistant surgeons that charge the same as the doctor. By the way this is news to me that there was an assistant surgeon ever!! I was hung on on after they told me I owed the money. I have emails and letters Ice sent them for backup. They are continuing to send me threatening letters saying they are going to turn me over to a collection agency. To top the whole thing off my husband is currently back in the hospital for a third surgery for an infection he received from the bovine material that was used in the bypass. The doctors at the VA said this doctor should be shot. The material he used is old technology and evidently this doctor isn't even a vascular surgeon.
