I went to Knoxville Center Mall to Dr. Bizer Vision World because they were advertizing a sale, buy one pair of progressive lens for $149 and get one pair FREE.  The small print states that the frames for this special are those valued up to $69.00 only, or if you wanted more expensive frames, you just pay the difference.  As it turns out, I found two frames that I liked, and each pair were $69.00.  I then sat down with one of the salesman. I told him right off the bat that I already had good glasses, that these were not a "need" but a "want", therefore, I did NOT want to pay for any additional "add-ons".  I was told that the frames I picked out were not suitable for the progressive lens, however, if I purchased a different type of lens, at the tune of $100.00 more, that they could use the frames I picked out!  WHAT??????

I asked to speak to the manager.  I told him that their ad plainly states, you can get 2 pair progressive lens glasses for $149.00, and now I am being told that in order to get progressive lens, I have to pay $100 more.   What gives?

The manager tells me, that of course I can get the special deal, just NOT with the frames I picked out.  Ok, the ad says that in order to get this 2 for 1 deal, the frames must be $69 or less.  So what is the problem?   He proceeds to tell me, that the frames I picked out are not big enough to hold progressive lens. WHAT????  The frames I had on were smaller than the ones in front of me!   He tells me that YES, they can fix me up with the special price, but I must choose larger frames.  So I asked him to show me what frames he is talking about.  HELLO???? They are ugly, huge "Jacki-O" type of glasses that were popular about 30 years ago!  He even admitted to me that they were not as stylish as the more expensive one.

So, here is the rip off.  They lure you in with this "Buy one Get one FREE" and then once you pick out what you really want, under their guidelines mind you ($69.00 frames) , you are then told that nooooooo, they can't give you that special because the frames you chose are not "big enough" to fit the progressive lens.  Give me a break!  You go in expecting two pair of glasses for $149 and by the time they get done with you, you're out close to $400!  NO THANKS.

Please beware!  They should be reported to the Better Business Bureau.  I think I will do just that.
