Dr. Igal Khorshidi, MD Sexist, condescending, arrogant, New York New York

Hello,

I wanted to inform you of a doctor for his mistreatment of his staff and patients.

Last night 12/9/14 at 6:45 my wife had an appointment with a gastroenterologist by the name of Dr. Igal Khorshidi 20 West 46th street 9th floor New York, NY 10017.

My wife has had terrible pains in her stomach and her symptoms are close to those of patients with cancer. Obviously this was a cause for concern so we scheduled an appt. immediately.

What happened next is appalling. The Dr was completely unprofessional with my wife and his staff. He called my wife a liar and insisted her stomach issues were not as serious as she claimed. His tone was very condescending and made my wife and on duty receptionist very uncomfortable.

He went on to finally examining my wife's stomach in his exam room. To which shortly became more interested in a minor rash my wife had and that is already being treated. He insisted on investigating the rash and asked my wife to expose her breast so that he may take a better look.

Obviously my wife was very uncomfortable and asked the doctor what that had to do with her stomach issue? I'm not a medical doctor but rashes are a dermatological issue not gastrointestinal last I checked.

He called his receptionist into the exam room whom I don't even know if she qualified to stand there during a examination.

At this point Dr. Khorshidi proceeded with his examination of the rash and exposed my wife's breast. My wife was also mindful enough to notice he was NOT wearing gloves.

To say the very least, she was completely mortified and his receptionist could see the amount of distress in my wife's face. My wife cut the examination short by leaving the room when Dr Khorshidi had his back turned.

We reviewed feedback about this Dr on zocdoc.com; mostly finding negative entries especially regarding his level of professionalism and sexist behavior towards female patients.

I would be remised if Dr. Khorshidi is not reported on so any future patients do not have to endure the humiliation my wife and other female patients did.

I'm positive the women's advocacy agency does not stand for or condone a medical doctor with such immoral values as Dr. Khorshidi. These women put trust in this man and he is taking advantage of his patient bill of rights and violating basic human rights.

I will be looking into enforcing whatever legal actions are necessary so this never happens again.
