Incomprehensible.

Dr. Katalin Eckstein posts her professional profile on Psychology Today's ad list stating that:

In parenting education, she focuses on non-coercive techniques?

This woman was so aggressive to myself, my colleagues, and the parent of her child patients that we had to at times hang up on her and came very close to filing a grievance against her.

Dr. Eckstein continues her professional profile by stating:

She minimizes the family stress?

She keeps parents and children apart, testifies in a court of law against parents she never treated, based on "reports" she was given by manipulative attorneys rather than first-hand knowledge, and cancels court-ordered visits between parent and child if she is not paid by the first of each month.

She spends years doing the most stressful thing anyone can do to a young child: insists on "telephonic supervision" in which she places a four-way call with herself and the ex-spouse listening in on everything the parent and child are saying to each other. She instructs one parent on how and when to hang up the children on the other parent if certain things are said.

She did not permit my client to say, "I love you," or "I miss you," to the children because it would create "too much stress for the children."

Is that therapy? Is that minimal stress for the family or children? This is possibly one of the most traumatic modalities I have ever seen in the handling of a divorce case in my entire career.

Her child patients literally told me, upon being terminated by Dr. Eckstein with only one day's notice, and upon being immediately returned to a 50/50 timesharing status with both parents, that:

They felt as if they "had been in jail for years" and that they were "being held hostage." That they were "told what to say and not say." That "it was torture to have to pretend and hold back" their anger toward what she was doing. That they created a "freedom" song when she terminated her treatment with them and performed it for their parent.

We have full documentation of the above.

I am obligated to report that I do not recommend this doctor at all.
