By the way my anit-psychiatry work was being dedicated to the lifetime of dedicated anti-psychiatry work of Dr Thomas Ssasz, who is an Emeritus Professor of Psychiatry in your department. This was at times stated on my Websites. However, my anti-psychiatry work will never again be dedicated to any psychiatrist.

Furthermore, in all honesty I get the impression from a careful consideration of my meeting with you and from your email that you simply do not know what you are doing and that you are a 100% quack. During my very short meeting with you I was simply well dressed in a conservative manner and soft spoken. I did not say all that much in that short time and you did not ask any intelligent questions to determine what my actual interests were and why. Anyway, it is not unusual for a psychiatrist to be as confused, unscientific and inappropriate as you actually are.

This is my last e-mail to you.

Dear Dr Smith,

I am a Phi Beta Kappa, summa c*m laude graduate of Dickinson College in historic Carlisle, Pennsylvania. I was awarded honors in my required clinical electives in Psychiatry at Jefferson Medical College. I have devoted my entire life and career towards working to imrpove mental health care. And I have also studied the anti-psychiatry positions of Dr Thomas Szasz, who is an Emeritus Professor of Psychiatry at your medical University. And I have also recently completed a series of Medscape CME courses in Psychiatry and Family Medicine which Dr Manring was made aware of.

Now although I am unsually very polite to people I lost my cool when I recently received a rude e-mail from Dr Manring in the Psychiatry Department at your medical University and I responded with a rude e-mail. I will offer you the courtesy of forwarding you my recent e-mail communications with Dr Manring as I herein suggest that he be fired from the Psychiatry Department at your University.

I have now learned to never again stretch the truth about any psychiatrists due to career considerations and financial concerns by saying any of them are pleasant and intelligent. Clearly, none of them are and they have completely ruined the medical profession in this country with their barbarism and their pure idiocy!

By the way I am married with two young children to raise here in the Liverpool, New York/Syracuse region and I am frightened to death about the mental health care system here with imbeciles like Dr Manring working in Psychiatry here. It makes me feel as if my entire family has absolutely no future in this country with further feelings my wife's native country of Vietnam is a more civilized and intelligent country to reside in and to raise children in.

Having spent time talking with you in person, having viewed your website and received and read the emails you have sent me, it has been hard to not come away with a sense of the choices you have made in your life as well as an agenda beyond simply getting into a training program in psychiatry. I usually withhold prejudging applicants until their applications are screened and they are invited for an interview with our faculty and residents. Because of the time already expended in your case, I feel compelled to tell you that I doubt you would be accepted into our program should you carry through your application via ERAS.

Although I don't believe we could find you suitable employment as a physician here, I suspect there are sites in the county which could use the services of a licensed physician.

While likely disappointing to you, I hope this message saves you needless expenditure of time, energy and money.

Dear Lisa Gallinger,

I met with Dr Manring in his office earlier in the summer to discuss my career interests and I thought he was a very intelligent and pleasant physician.

Now, if I make a firm commitment to supporting the same orientation in mental health care as your department supports with an interest in applying for a PGY-1 position in your department via the NRMP and ERAS for next year could your department offer me any type of job in the meantime. As a New York State licensed and registered physician I am willing to work as an assistant or in any other capacity with your group while I am working on getting a residency training position. Although I am 54 years old I am in very good health in body and mind. And, since I have an immigrant Vietnamese wife and our 6 year old son and 8 year old daughter to care for I simply need more income for the families needs as soon as possible. Furthermore, the career opportunities are very poor here in Liverpool, New York where I do not have enough money for my own physical General Practice office or clinic.
