When My Transmission needed to be replaced at 100K mi. on my 1995 Ford Escort, Dr. Nicks was recommended by Ramp Ford, because the tranny specialist was on vacation for 2 weeks. the new tranny cost me $1800, and at that time I was informed to have fluid service every 12-15K miles. At the mentioned mileage I went in for service. The car was road tested, and the service performed. The next morning, the tranny was severly slipping, I was told to bring it in on Saturday, which I was then told to bring it in on Monday because it needed to be left to be put on a diagnostic machine. I was told later that afternoon that the tranny needed to come out of the at a cost of $275, that just to diagnose the problem, not to fix the problem. I informed MIKE that I could not afford to repair the car so soon following Christmas, and he rudely said "pick up the car" and just hung up. THE CAR WAS IN PERFECT CONDITION BEFORE IT WAS TOUCHED, AND ONLY 12 mos. & 30k MILES after they put it in! THE ORIGINAL TRANNY WENT 100000 MILES. Ford Infomed me that the computer port that is used to run diagnostics on the tranny was broken, and it was impossible to take a reading on the tranny. They "Ford" repaired it. They also said that they stopped recommending Dr. Nicks because of customer complaints. Ford has quoted me $2400 for a re-manufactured tranny. Note: The same Ford dealer that I went to originally told me to go to another Dr. Nicks to have it fixed for another $1000.00. Now 5 mos. & 12,000 miles later I feel it slipping again.
