I order an Italian Queen Bee from Draper Super Bee Apiaries Inc. and everything looked fine online when i ordered it. The cost was a little high for a queen, thirty dollars, but i wanted to try them out so i bought it anyway.
On the website it didn't give me an option for shipping and said that it would be billed separatly. So obviously i expected them to confirm the shipping amount with me... Nope. And the best part about it was that the shipping was an outstanding $56.44! WHAT THE HECK! No one bothered to call me and make sure that it was ok to send a package that weighed less that a pound for $56.44 shipping?
The scam is that they dont tell you how much shipping is going to be until you buy there bees. Of course they dont make any money from the shipping but let me tell you most people would never dream of ordering from these guys if they knew that the shipping would be so much.
So, i got one queen bee for the same price i could get about 10,000 bee and a queen. Nice!
I call Draper super bee and all i could do was listen to some old man who informed me he has been in the business X amount of years tell me he had no intention of changing the way he does business and it was all my fault from ordering from him in the first place. I suppose it is....

I bought Apistan varroa mite chemical strips. These strips are to be kept in the orignial package as begin to work once opened. I found this warnings and recommended use on this chemical and pasted it here... DRAPERS placed the strips in a blown envelop, no instructions on use, no labeling and without warnings; and, all against federal standards of sales and use.

Directions For Use
It is a violation of Federal Law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its label.
Wear gloves (e.g., latex) when handling the strips. Just before application, remove the required number of APISTAN® Strips from the pouch. To separate strips, hold firmly at corner, near tab, and pull along scored line, from top to bottom. Unused strips should remain in original package.
Do not place strips in direct contact with combs containing honey intended for human consumption. After treatment, do not use beeswax for human consumption (including honeycomb, chunk honey, and wax for confectionary purposes).
Use 1 strip for each 5 combs of bees or less in each brood chamber (Langstroth deep frames or equivalent in other sizes). Hang the strips within 2 combs of the edge of the bee cluster. APISTAN Strips must be in contact with brood nest bees at all times. If 2 deep supers are used for the brood nest, hang APISTAN Strips in alternate corners of the cluster, in the top and bottom super. For best chemical distribution, use APISTAN Strips when daytime high temperatures are at least 50° F.
For Control
Remove honey supers before application of APISTAN Strips and do not replace until the end of the control period. For adequate control within a bee yard, treat all infested colonies within that yard.
Effective control may be achieved by treating hives in the spring before the first honey flow and in the fall after the last honey flow. Do not remove strips from hive for at least 42 days (6 weeks). Do not leave strips in hive for more than 56 days (8 weeks). Honey supers may be replaced after strips are removed.
For Detection
Place white, sticky paper below the frames (sticky side up). Place APISTAN Strips as per above instructions. At various intervals (up to 7 days), check for Varroa on withdrawn white, sticky paper from below the frames.
Storage And Disposal
Do not contaminate water, food, or feed by storage or disposal.
Storage
Keep strips in original unopened package until ready to use. Do not store in direct sunlight. Do not store unused strips in anything but original package. Do not store unused strips near pesticides or other chemical substances that could contaminate the strips and result in bee toxicity.
Disposal
Do not reuse strips. Wastes resulting from the use of this product may be disposed of on site or at an approved waste disposal facility.
