Dream City Auto Sales sold me gap insurance and never sent it in milwaukie Oregon

Purchased a car in january 2013, in march I realized that i had never received any paperwork for the gap insurance I had bought through the dealership. I called them about it and they kept coming up with excuses as to why I didn't receive any paperwork. several months went by and finally i contacted the company that they were to purchase the gap insurance through and they had no record of our names or vin number of our car having even gap insurance being applied for. Except that the auto dealership trying to get signed up to even sell gap insurance in april then again in june. So here it is 6 months later, still no gap insurance; finding that it is too late to even get gap insurance due to it's been more than 60 days since we purchased. So now the dealership said I could refinance my car and get the gap insurance or they would give my money back as a credit to the principal of my loan. I'm at least getting my money back, but how many others are out there that purchased the gap insurance and don't really have it and think they do, as the dealership more than likely didn't even purchase it, but pocketed it.

Will never do business with this shady dealership. Really think this could be considered fraud, and there should be some sort of fine or punishment for this type of dishonesty.

Beware of this dealership and stay far far away!
