After purchasing an item from a website that I have never gone to before, I received this charge on my checking account: "594265 DRI*WWWE DRI*WWWELEMELEMENT5.INFOMN." The amount I was charged was $29.95. I knew for a fact that I had never dealt with this company before, and the fact that there was no 800 number for me to contact them about the charge made me doubly suspicious. When I went to the website to see if there was any contact information, I immediately noticed a second red flag: the website was in German, possibly Dutch. It doesn't really matter, because I speak neither of those languages and wouldn't be able to purchase anything from that company. Needless to say, I immediately called my bank and had my card closed. This is, unfortunately, the second time this has happened to me, although this time it's with a different company and I was able to catch it right as it happened. My bank was very swift with the justice the first time around, so I'm sure that it will all be settled soon.
