It's really simple. Either way you send your payment to them , you have to pay... .I have never heard of anything like that..... We as individuals or car owners are already struggling to pay the notes and then they turn around and charg you extra as to how you send it.... I can understand the western union thing, But to send it thru mail it's 9.95 AND pay by phone is 10.95... this is ridiculous. I am sending in what I owe for the payment and that's it..... I may be wrong but I just don't feel it..... What if all the other companies charge you for sending a payment thru mail... or pay on the internet..... I think something should be done.... Regardless of how you send the payment you pay extra...... I don't think so....... Please help me to understand because right now I am not feeling this at all...... Thanks in advance.... Help Me!!!

Paying ontime or late shouldn't cost

I have to agree with Cecilia. You're already struggling to keep up. We asked for a deferment and was told, no way. She "suggested" I pay the month I needed deferred in 2 payments on the next 2 months. We did that and struggled to get it paid. The next person I spoke with said that wasn't acceptable either and she shouldn't have told us that. They call my work constantly, every day, several times a day and when I answer, there's no one on the phone. We had more financial problems and are again now 1 month behind. We pay it every month at our payroll time and the calls still keep coming. It's not like we're trying to rip them off.
When I go to pay, it's ridiculous to have to pay even more money online than I already pay. The interest is high as it is and they won't work with you for deferments. I'm tired of being harrassed by these people at work. If my husband or I lose our jobs because of this company calling, then we won't be able to pay at all. They should think about that while they're harrassing people.
Put me in for a class action when you start one!

Regarding Ross

To the party who 'accused' Ross of signing off somewhere in Grapevine, TX, even though 'we all really know where he is'.
Did ya bother to pull up a map of Grapevine, TX???? It's on the northwest edge of DFW (Dallas Forth Worth) Airport, which btw, is only about 20-25 minutes from Drive's Stemmons Parkway Address. I don't know, that seem's like a pretty reasonable distance between work and home. It's not like he was saying he was from San Antonio or something!
I think maybe you owe Ross an apology.

I am with you on a deferment. I was given one around march as long as I pad four hundred to the company, and fax information in. I was then givin the wrong fax and never givin a deferment. Harrassed each day over and over several times.
I finally faxed a new set of material top them and they called back and said they want their money , and I am being documented of asking for a deferment. They said no deferment were to be givin out as of march 7th, but I talked to a guy and he said pay this, took a voice recording and said fax some docs and you can have it. Well of course they lied once again. I get harrasing calls all daY AND AM STILL WAITING.

Drive Financial is the DEVIL

Beth,
You mention refinance. What if they are already trying to repo the car? who is this HSBC?
What can you tell me about Josh Miller? He is lying for his employee's and covering up for their bad behavior. Is it normal proceedure for Drive to not tell someone that their check did not clear until 2 months later? So by then it will be 60 days late? and nor did it reflect on my following months bill. What can you tell me as far as underhanded collection tactic that they are good at pulling. I am looking at obtaining a lawyer to put a Class action lawsuit on them, they have falsified my records, keep calling my job, when ask by my staff support department ask them not to. adn on my bill each month each month it makes it apire as if I am two behind every time, I ask for a deferment but get no responce. enlighten me!

Try to refinance...I recommend HSBC. They have better customer service skills, send statements, don't charge you to mail your payment. You also get the option to make the payment via internet for a $5.00 fee, through their automated telephone system for like $7.00, & through a live rep for like $10.00. Either way, hope you can refi. Drive is an evil empire!

Do not give this Company any of your checking information

Cecelia,
Do not give anyone at drive Financial any of your checking information what so ever. We have evidence where this company has taken out More money from someones checking account then they were authorized to do so. Doesnt it seem strange that Ross has to sign off somewhere in grapevine texas when we all know where he really is. Again cecelia do not give anyone any information on your checking account..

#1 UPDATE Employee
It costs money to pay on time.

You are correct Cecelia, no matter how you send your payment to Drive, every time, you will be paying something extra. I would honestly suggest that you, as so many collectors and finance company employees have posted on this site, research the simple interest loan you agreed to in your contract, or maybe just ask the next Drive rep to fax you a payment history. When you consider the value, (i.e. principle value saved by paying on time), and avoiding extra interest, that Money-Gram fee will seem minuscule by comparison. You take your daily perdiem(ask a drive rep about it) and multiply that by an average of 5-7 days of mail time, and that 35 cents for a stamp loses its appeal.
If you are really concerned about the extra fees i have two options for you. First, you could move to Colorado, since our check system (Western Union Speedpay) does not charge a fee to that state, but be sure to notify a Drive rep before you move. Secondly, you could opt to have your payment withdrawn automatically from your checking account by ACH every month on your due date at no extra fee, just be sure you have the funds available or you may find yourself the recipient of some NSF fees from your bank.
I hope this helps in your dealings with Drive Financial, and if you have any questions feel free to contact Drive Financial at 1-888-222-4227 (you might just get me on the phone)
