I am in texas and I really understand how you feel at the moment. I am trying to talk to anyone that I can regarding this company. I just plane do not like the way they treat people. I am actually ahead on my payments and get treated like I am scum of the earth. That is very irritating. I say that because it shouldn't matter your situation, I personally feel that not one person has the right to treat others with disrespect. I feel this happens with DT because at the end of the day they know individuals like ourself went to them for a specific reason. I would say 99% have a credit issue in some form or another I am wanting to start going to there location here in DFW and start explaining how this company treats people after you become a customer. But let's face it, one person at one location means nothing. I want to see if there are others that are willing to help make multiple people at mulitiple locations.

Read up on simple interest loans (which is what your loan may be) and try not to be late anymore. Even 1 day late is not good on a simple interest loan.

In a nutshell (this is with monthly payments). Say you make this payment 30 days after your last payment. 30 days worth of interest will come out of the payment, and the remaining should go to the principal. Say you make the next payment 45 days later. 45 days of interest will come out of the payment and the rest will apply to principal. Say you make the next payment just 15 days later (because the preceding month you were 15 days late and this month you are ontime). Only 15 days worth of interest comes out of the payment and the rest will apply towards principal. It depends on how many days is was since your last payment (and how your loan is amortizing) as to how much will go to interest and principal.

Also, be careful to add the "late fee" that may be assessed if you are late. This has nothing to do with the late interest accumulated.

Go to an online amortization calculator. This only comes out right if you are ontime, every payment, from here on out. Plug in the amount you owe, plus the term you have left, and the interest rate. You will see a payment. That is how much you have to pay every month, ontime, for your car to be paid off in the time you have left.
