This company shows up as a google ad when someone searches for renewing their driver's license. Simply hovering over the ad sends you to their website. The site is set up to deceive you into believing you are renewing your driver's license when in fact all they do is email you a booklet of freely available information but charge you a $3.99 processing fee plus $23.98 for the actual booklet.
They deceive you because they provide step by step questions which are similar to what DMV would ask. A person is led to believe they are a third party company assisting with renewing a drivers license. It is hard to actually know the truth because everything is in such small print.
They get from you your personal information, including your date of birth which is absolutely not needed for making a purchase of a booklet and can be used to scam you further when that is matched with your credit card information.
They don't provide the price upfront which would make your realize you are being scammed. They even ask you if you want to contribute to different causes such as mothers against drunk driving.
People know it usually takes at least 10 days to receive their license. By the time people finally realize they have been duped, it is likely beyond their money back guarantee period and they never get their money back.
I realized just after my purchase and called for the refund. They were going to keep the $3.99 processing fee until I made a stink about it.
I see people have complained about this website for many years.
Be warned - these people are scam artists. You would be best off cancelling the credit card you provided them because who knows what else they will do with that information?
