Driveway Guardian came out to sealcoat my driveway and now it is ruined. They seal coated the driveway in October 2009. Three months after they placed the sealant on my driveway I noticed that tire marks would appear that do not wash away or fade away. Also, there are white marks from where I shoveled the snow this past winter.
I have called several times. I have been promised that someone will come out and take a look at my driveway three seperate times. I paid $265 for this service. It took them less than a week to book the appointment to coat my driveway.
All I want is for them to come out and do the job correctly. My old driveway looked much better. My house is only five years old so I had a good driveway before they ruined it. I was trying to protect the driveway I had. I wish I had never called them.

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company
Driveway Guardian stands behind our workmanship 100%
AUTHOR: Steven - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, February 22, 2011
Driveway Guardian prides itself by standing behind our workmanship 100%. We strive to reach customer service levels which cannot be attained by other driveway maintenance outfits. We have thousands of satisfied customers in NJ, PA & DE.
It upsets us that we fell short of this particular homeowners expectations and were not able to provide them with a service that they were 100% satisfied with on the first go around. We were able to schedule and book this homeowners project with-in 1 week of acceptance of our proposal. We pride ourselves on our quick turn around, sometimes even being able to provide same day scheduling if we have a crew in a neighboring development working.
To address the authors complaint; our Driveway Guardian proposal clearly states that "for any reason that you are not 100% satisfied with your Driveway Guardian application, simply call us before Winter and we will return to correct the issue at no additional charge"
Granted, the driveway was sealed in October which was the last month of seal coating season and the complaint did not arise until 3 months later, which would have voided our "return guarantee."
In addition, it clearly stipulates a disclaimer: "We are not resonsible for 3rd party damage or damage from snow and ice removal activities"
As the author herself admits, she in fact noticed white areas after snow removal activities. In 2009 - 2010, the Mullica Hill NJ area received in excess of 100" of snow fall (The worse Winter to hit South Jersey in History). I personally inspected the driveway and it was covered with "divots" from someone using a combination of snow tires and using a metal scraper to break ice. The white spots were the "fractured" stone in the asphalt from the ice removal activity and the gouging it caused.
What the author neglected to state was the driveway was resealed FREE of charge in June 2010 on our first day of seal coating. We always put what we call "purple cards" (Free Re-Do's) on the schedule first. The authors driveway was re-sealed free of charge before Driveway Guardian collected its first sale for the 2010 season.
The seal coating project was out of the warranty period, was damaged from a third party, however, Driveway Guardian returned to seal coat the driveway FREE of charge because we know what our reputation is worth and so do all of our competitors.
We never received a phone call to thank us, however, at the same time because we did not hear back from the homeowner we have assumed that they are satisfied with the finished product.
