I was parked in a visitors spot with my visitors tag hanging from my mirror. That should be enough for you to move on about your business, but no, they towed me. Because my tag was expired. What they didn't know was I had a medical emergency and was in the hospital for a month. I was going to finally be able to get it fixed that weekend (they towed me middle of the night Thursday or early Friday morning). I called and they said ...did you know your tag is expired. I said yeah that's why it's parked. They said "oh" they don't care they just want to make a quick 160. On top of it they tried to pretend they were closed when my friend took me to get it. Trying to get me to pay extra to have it sit over the weekend. We had to keep calling the number and have someone open the storage. The sign said I still had two more hours until closing. I don't have 160 laying around, especially with what I'm going thru with my medical incident. And because this happened, I can't sleep at night. I'm on anxiety medication now just to relax and sleep here. I don't even come home that much any more because I'm so disgusted. I pay all this rent for a place I'm hardly living at because I'm scared the stress from the chances of getting towed again, even though I got the car fixed. If a medical emergency happens again, I can't take the chance of my car not being here just because someone is shady and wants to make a few bucks. Never have a had this problem until I moved here. I can't wait until my lease is up. I will never ever live in manassas again. People have nothing better to do than find any sneaky loophole just to make a buck off of already poor people. We live in manassas. It's not like we're rolling in it! And thanks for the months of sleepless nights and the added medication I don't not worth it.

Oh so dramatic

AUTHOR: Robert - (USA)

Oh you are so dramatic saying that they will tow anyone legally or illegally.  As nothing you have shown here, has shown that they did anything illegal.

In most apartment/HOA communities it is against the parking policy for a resident to use "visitor" spaces/passes and you are subject to towing and/or fines because of that.  So regardless of anything else one has to ask if you are a resident there.  Why are you not using one of the RESIDENT spaces assigned to you?

In addition, most communities have a rule that any vehicle parked must be both in running conditon and have current registration.  By your own admission you parked it because it did NOT have current registration.

These are also policies that the management would have made you aware of when signing your lease.

So I don't know why you would be worried about them towing your car if you are abiding by the rules.
