You said you expect Wal-Mart to stand behind their products and such?
Wal-mart is the worst offender of bad ethics, bad business practices and outsourcing when they are supposed to be American made.
They won't stand behind anything they sell because they can't. Remember the flip-flops that caused chemical burns?
On the other hand, I agree with Stephanie. Wal-mart couldn't exactly foresee the expiration of the brand you bought, so this isn't technically their problem. Does it suck? Oh yeah. And in a good faith effort, maybe they should have exchanged the DVD player for you- but then again, it IS Wal-mart.

Unless Wal-Mart knew that the Portable DVD player company was going to go out of business BEFORE the warranty was going to run out, then they DIDN'T rip you off.
