...shows recorded directly from TV (with commercials and all), other programs copied on the DVD, etc.. As an example of this, a victim ordered a Hawaii 5-0 series boxed set, and within the shows are a few random Scrubs episodes. Some of the DVDs have even broken the victims DVD player. However, most victims never receive their product or money back.
The site does offer a live chat, but empty promises. Additionally, the chat they advertise to be provided by LivePerson is a cover-up. I have spoken to executives and general counsel (attorney for) LivePerson and they are not affiliated with any of these websites. They are looking into. You can check this out yourself. If you click on the BUTTON for live chat as advertised on the cons website, you are routed to https://server.iad.liverperson.NET yet, if you click on the link underneath that chat button (the one that says Live chat by LivePerson, you are routed to http://liveperson.COM. It is a cover-up and very illegal to advertise this company, without permission, on their websites.
I along with 16 other people I have found in the US, UK, etc. have banded together and are fighting. Between the 16 of us, we have been swindled out of over $3000.00. What am I asking from you? Very simply to join forces with me and the other victims I have found to put a stop to these con artists.
Why? (1) To catch the perpetrators behind this crime and (2) if we dont, more people will fall victim, including family, kids, or friends, for many more years.
Anyone can fall victim to an Internet scam or con game, even someone considered too intelligent or sophisticated to be conned.
We need our voices heard loud and clear! We cannot let Internet fraud and their creators continue to run off with our hard earned money. Why are they here? It's not because we are unintelligent, it's not because we are frivolous with our money, but it's because we are allowing them to be here. They believe the U.S. justice system's limited resources will deter prosecution. Lets show them how wrong they are. Speak out now, before YOU or someone you know is effected. We have a right to be protected and its up to us little people to stand up and say that we wont tolerate this now or in the future.
Only our choices and actions today will bring the justice these crooks deserve tomorrow. Wouldnt it be great to see their arrest aired on national TV? Knowing that you helped contribute to the conquest.
If you have been a victim of this particular scam, please contact me. I am keeping a database and your information will further help the cause and my complaint filed with the FBIs Internet Fraud Department as well as the Federal Trade Commission. Lets fight together and win. You CAN help stop them.
Personally, I would rather be part of the solution, not part of the problem and all we have to do is put our ideas and energy to work for us and our rights.
***Update 11/14/07 - I have received 2 suspicious email messages from a fictitious person that saw my posts on complaintboards.com. (A person is able to send an email to me through a link, but not see my actual email address at that point). The emails are so poorly written, I am not stupid. I DID NOT respond because I believe it to be these scam artists and what they are doing is called "phishing". Had I responded that would give them my email and if they are hackers as well, the first start to possibly illegally hack into my computer. They are very cunning, I have to admit, but if you are reading this post now, you phony crooks, guess what? I am too, and I am one step ahead of you.
It seems these crooks are sending the packages to Canada from where ever they are based. And then Canadian Post forwards to the recipient, but as I stated the product is NOT AS DESCRIBED ON THE WEBSITE. Pirated copies are illegal. A victim I am working with sent me this message, "Aimee, I have come across the original jiffy bag which my DVD collection arrived in, I don't know whether the information on the envelope is any use to the undergoing investigation.
Sender:
75 Eglinton Avenue, 4657, Toronto, Ontario M4P 3A4, posted via Xpresspost international, Canada post."
If you, by chance, have received ANYthing from these criminals, please keep it. It is very important you keep everything in relation to your transaction with them. Try to save any messages you get from them. Credit Card receipts, tape calls if you ever get through to anyone at the bogus 877-TV-SERIES or 877-7TV-SHOW. They are notorious for resonding via chat with empty promises. You can save those too by hitting the "print screen" key on your keyboard and then open Word or PowerPoint and hit "ctrl + V". The screen with the conversation will be pasted as a picture and then you can save it.
I will sign off quoting the well-known anthropologist, Margaret Mead,
"A small group of thoughtful people could change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."

I was also scammed
AUTHOR: J Gartrell - (U.S.A.)

I am so relieved to read your report on the Rip Off site. I have filed a complaint myself on this site. My name is Jennifer Gartrell. I was so excited to see the dvds I wanted for my husband for Christmas on dvd donkey. I knew better, I knew I should check more than I did, but I haven't ever ordered online before. I have lost 200 dollars and my bank says I can come in and file a claim. I am really devestated because that was most of my Christmas spending money. Please contact me. I canceled my check/credit card even though they had already used it. I figured that they might try to use it again. It has just been a punch in the stomach and I am furious and scared. I am glad I have found others to talk to about this. Thank you for putting this up!
