Linked to their site from Amazon.com. (My browser did not open the pictures on their site or I would have seen that this "company" deals in pirated copy DVD's and videos). Purchased DVD set and used credit card for payment. Received email with "tracking" number info. (NOTE: There is no contact phone number or listed physical address for this company on their web site or emails.) At that time I became aware that this company was located in Canada, and not the US. Received tracking notification a few days later saying my item was delivered. It wasn't, nor was it delivered the next day (Sat). Sent email following Monday advising them of non-receipt, and stated that if I wanted purchase price refunded. Got email from "Todd" claiming I was given the wrong tracking number, but that my item had shipped, and they would try to get me the correct info to track it. I emailed them back next day and asked if they had new tracking info yet; "Todd" sent reply asking "Didn't you get that ten days ago?" I cut and pasted his previous email, in which he claimed I was given the wrong tracking number, and sent it to him. I then got back another email saying that they were going to find the right tracking number. In the meantime, I Googled (which I should have done first, but you'd think because you were directed to their link from Amzaon, they were legit--NOT!) DVDMediastar and came across numerous complaints from other consumers who got sucked into their sitr. I emailed "Todd" back and advised him I wanted the immediate payment price refunded to me, as DVDMediastar is a huge consumer rip-off, and if I did receive the package, I would refuse it and return it immediately to them, via signature required mail. I also mentioned that my significant other (for whom the DVD's were meant to be a birthday present) was one very irate Deputy Sheriff with contacts in the RCMP, and that I would pursue this matter until I received satisfaction. After that, I received an email from "Brian Lawson" stating they would be happy to refund my money. I was then deluged by phone calls at work (which they got off my emails) from "Brian Lawson"; I would not speak to him, so he left several messages with no return phone number. "Todd" then emailed me syaing that their "bank did not issue refunds", and would I accept a cashier's check or refund back into Paypal? WHAT?!?! A bank that doesn't issue refunds?!?! I replied that was ridiculous. Back and forth we've gone over a week, with "Todd" then offering to send me a money order via registered mail, with the stipulation that I not pursue this matter to my credit card company. (I have opened a dispute with the credit card company) That just tells you right there these guys are scamming people. I eventually did get the package; it was ripped open, so I looked inside, and sure enough, a 2 yr. old could have made a better DVD cover. Fake! I have since mailed it back to these guys, but not before I wrote down the address of where it shipped from: "Media Monster, 20048-3029 Clayhill Road, Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, L5B 4L7" Google maps indicate this address is more than likely a PO Box location. As of today, I have heard nothing and so will be out almost $90.00, but I have wasted no time in reporting them to the FTC, and several other consumer complaint agencies in the hopes that someone somewhere will catch on to these losers and shut them down-permanently! They have several other websites as well under different names, but same scheme.
