I purchased a product based on the pictures listed on the internet. The pictures turned out to be outdated, and the product I received was not even close in appearance to the one I ordered.

When I made the company aware of my dissatisfaction, Ava Quail explained to me that I could go out of my way to purchase a shipping box and pay shipping charges (which I already paid to receive the incorrect product) to send it back. She did not say anything about a refund, nor did she offer to cover the return shipping costs required because of their mistake in listing the product.

Her e-mail to me had a signature that included her political views, her opinion on the war in Iraq, and her religious beliefs. I expressed my opinion to her that these things do not belong in a business e-mail, and she returned the following email:

"Your opinion about my signature on my emails is just that YOURS. I am a Christian - I am an American - and I AM NOT POLITICALLY CORRECT."

I do not own my own business, but as far as I know, this is not "putting the customer first" and is terrible business practice.

Jason when you buy a product don't expect to be able to return an item when you altered it

I buy from D W Quail all the time and so do many golfers I know. We have always been happy with there service, If you got the wrong item you should not have altered it, cutting the animal head covers hair with sissors how can you expect someone to accept a return on an item you cut up. You should have left it alone and they would have accepted your return I'am sure.

I returned an item to them once and was very pleased with the way this company handled things. You do not have the right to destroy an item you purchased how could you possibly expect to return a damaged item you caused, next time ask for a ra# and and don't cut the item up. You should also read a websites return policy, they have one posted and its fair, It would have explained the proper procedure, they state if the error is theirs they will cover it.

As for Ava Quails email signature, good for her. Proud to see someone cares. Next time deal with the real issue, you wanted to return an item you altered, No business would do that. Why slam her about her email signature.
All I would like to say is don't alter an item if you wish to return it.

Ava, you shipped a customer two products that were not as advertised.

One you admit was a complete redesign and on the other you claim it had suttle ( I assume you meant subtle) difference, and your customer thinks it is radically different. Your attitude is that if the customer is not happy he can spend his time, and at his expense, return them. In my opinion, that is just wrong.

You are also angry that someone repremandaed ( I assume you meant reprimanded) for your political and religious comments in your signature. I was taught that this would be improper even on personal correspondence and it is totally inappropriate on a business communication.

Jason deserves his refund

Ava- It is obvious to me and any other business person that your practices are well below standards. You have pulled the classic "bait and switch" procedure with one of your products which is to say you were fraudulent. To advertise one specific product and replace it with a "slightly modified" product is wrong. A full refund is warranted. Secondly, you should be more concerned about how you treated a customer than how Jason responded to your signature which in a business world was tacky. We are all very proud of our military and your son's dedicated service but to insert this signature on everything you send out is also tacky. It is also hard to believe that his response to this was the first. In closing, we all have to sleep in the bed that we make and I'm sure your's is extremely uncomfortable.

This is in repsonse to Ava Quails response to Jason.

I do not believe the jason is criticising you or your son for his work with this nations military forces, what i believe he is saying is that it is not proper business etiquette to express these beliefs in a email signiture, i whole-heartily agree with him.

However for the issue at hand, i believe YOU, Ava, are out of line. Jason was purchasing a specific product, and you failed to deliver what your website promised it would, subtle differences or not. We, in the business world, call that FALSE ADVERTISING. If your design has changed, completely or slightly, this be made known to your customer, via internet or telephone . . .before the product is delivered. If you want to succeed in this country as a business person you will learn to put your customer first, and as jason mentioned you did not do this in this particular case.

The case here is not how well your son is doing or how proud you are of him. We are all proud of what our troops are doing, but when running a business you must remember that you are running a business and not this country. It is now up to you to make this right. YOu need to refund Jasons money in full and/or produce the merchandise which initially bought.

First of all, Jason did not tell you that he had purchased a donkey putter cover from us that he cut the hair off of and wanted to return it for a full refund. He claimed it was not the same one pictured in the photo. The mfg. does sometimes very slightly change the materials if they cannot get the original material. The changes are suttle - not a complete redesign.

We do not take back merchandise that has been cut to pieces. The other headcover had been changed by the mfg. completely - and Jason did purchase it prior to the development team rolling out the new picture on the net. I told Jason I'd be happy to take that on back and refund his money for that one.

As for the comment about being politically correct, here is my signature on my email that Jason felt it necessary to repremand me for:

I have had this signature since my son joined the Marine Corps right after 9/11. At the time of this email he was fighting in Fallujah for the second time. I did take great offense to Jason's comments that I was not being politically correct by having that signature. I am an American - I am an American Company - and my son is fighting for this country - honestly, you can't get more AMERICAN than that.

I responded by telling him that I am a Christian and I do not claim to be "politically correct" by his definition. I also went on to say that I am an American, and the mother of a US Marine. I am very proud of that. In the 4 years that I have had this signature - Jason is THE ONLY PERSON who has spoken negatively against it. I have thousands of emails supporting my signature - and many people have adapted their own as a result. It is a statement to remind everyone - there are troops sacrificing every minute - their families are sacrificing every minute - don't forget them, and don't take our freedoms for granted. They come with a great cost.

Rip off. No way. I just simply didn't want to take back the donkey putter cover he had cut to pieces. Jason - I will still take back your Leprechaun headcover as long as you have not damaged it in any way. I will give you a refund - as stated from the beginning.
