Defammation of character would apply to their blog about the ex-employee.

The ex-employee was fired, and her commission money withheld, after SHE filed a police report against them. They ganged up on her to destroy her credibility. Absolute lies were told by them.

Such BS, they should be ashamed.

E-limidebt, Inc. has recently been notified of a very nasty and slanderous post on www.RipoffReport.com and would like to take the opportunity to address the very serious nature of these claims.

Our company has been in business for over 4 years assisting consumers with unsecured debt issues and offering a viable alternative to Bankruptcy. We have in no way mistreated or taken advantage of any consumers, for we are an organization offering hope in times of financial despair. We are not the type of organization that preys on the financially distressed.

This can be verified by our track record with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and even The Association of Settlement Companies (TASC). Furthermore, we have no complaints with the Florida Attorney General or the Attorney General's office of any State. We encourage any consumer to contact the BBB, TASC or even the AG of their respective State regarding our business and find for themselves that we are a legitimate and hard working company.

The post stating various slanderous and derogatory comments was written by a disgruntled employee who worked with the company over a year ago. She was terminated for poor job performance, and threatening with the intent to use violence. She appeared to suffer from mental instability and drinking problems. After her termination she began making excessive phone calls, usually late at night, to the company owner and various members of the staff. She made nasty remarks regarding the owner and the entire staff; going as far as to state one member of the staff was a "terrorist". The nature of these calls were much like the tone her post; which again was over a year after her termination.

What is not mentioned in this post is that a Police Report was filed and that a legal document was drawn by our corporate attorney stating that no further communication with the company or its staff was to take place and any slanderous remarks would be cause for legal action. A copy of this post has been sent to our corporate counsel for review and legal action may be pending.

We again encourage consumers to do their own research and never take things at face value. The internet is a great venue for information sharing; however, validating that information is the next step in making a good decision.
