12/1/99 My husband and I apply online for a new car loan. 2 weeks pass. No response. We call E-Loan who tells us we have been approved for awhile (!). A week later we receive their loan packet with a blank check from Nations Bank.

12/9/99 We disburse the E-Loan check to our dealership and take possession of our new car. Next day we receive a phonecall from E-Loan saying they never received insurance information on our car. We call GEICO who says they have sent proof of insurance via post mail and faxed E-Loan earlier. GEICO faxes E-Loan insurance information again, 2 more times.

12/26/99 Dealership tries to cash E-Loan check from Nations Bank. Payment is refused! E-Loan tells dealership they have not received any insurance documentation from anyone. The dealership faxes E-loan documentation again. E-Loan still claims they have not received anything. Dealership calls us and tells us E-Loan check bounced. We pay out-of-pocket for our car. The dealership no longer deals with E-Loan. We file with BBB. Merry Christmas!

My E-loan Experience was the best experience I've ever had, Monica Barkley and she held our hands the whole way

I'm terribly sorry that you had such a bad experience with E-loan especially since my experience was so wonderful.

I used E-loan for a home equity line of credit and it was the best experience I've ever had with a financial institute. Our customer service rep was Monica Barkley and she held our hands the whole way. She called to make sure things were going okay and to find out if we had any questions.

While waiting for the approval, she had me call her on a Sunday as she was going in the office for a few hours. We knew right away when we had been approved.

Unfortunately in large companies you run the full range from employees who don't care to employees who want to make your experience as wonderful as possible. Fortunately, I had the later and you had the earlier.

Don't write a company off just because of a mistake. They do happen.
