My sister recently used E-Z Movers for moving from Chicago to Portland. Their pick up was slow and unprofessional.
The REAL problem started on delivery. The Company driver promised to deliver our consignment 3 times and reneged on all 3 times. On the 4th try a Saturday, he TOLD us that our address WASNT REACHABLE by his 18-wheeler truck. We just wasted our time & business for this guy to show up. I lost 3 vacation days from work. Also this guy was just plain lying as he appeared at our address the following day in an 18 wheeler.
But this pales into comparison when he did make an appearance. The driver (says his name is Artos) just barged inside, shoved the papers in my sister's face and said - "you pay cash NOW and you have 10 minutes to pay the cash before we unload or else we leave and start charging you. I was fuming on learning this-but asked him in a polite but emphatic voice to be civil and that we had the cash for him. My voice somehow must have irked him - when I handed the cash - he just snatched it. I asked him to sign the copy with "cash paid" comment - he just refused. I said - he will have to sign - This guy was such a freak that he started using F words. When I tried to capture this guy on my camera phone, he just lunged at the camera violently.
Being concerned about my sisters and wifes safety, I called 911, but my sis canceled the call as she did not want to rouse a commotion with us being new in the neighborhood. When this guy realized that I was on 911, this guy just threw the money, gunned his 18-wheeler and left.
We are still waiting for our stuff after having paid more than $ 1500 ...
I have a fair suspicion that this driver is an illegal immigrant or has some previous conviction - he just bolted after the 911 call. The company refuses to take accountability for such horrible - almost criminal customer service.
Do yourself a favor - DO NOT use this company and file a complaint in BBB (Better Business Bureau) in case of such an experience.
