  Norman Bevins of Quechee, VT (East Coast Construction) Formally of rutland, VT 802-353-1496 had hired me as a sub to help him finish up a job that he wanted to get done by the end of the week. He stated that he wanted me to re-side 2 dormers. I was supposed to meet him on thursday at 9:00am in putney, which is 1 hour and 15 minutes from my house. When I got there, I had to call to see where he was. He said he wouldn't be there for 2 hours and I could go dig out the siding that was in the snow, sort it out and then said I could go insulate the entrance way. By the time he showed up I had talked to the home owner, sorted the vinal siding, finished the insulation, and started siding the dormer. By Friday I completed both dormers and expected to be payed. Norman then asked if I did sheet rock repair because he had to repair the entranceway where he had tarped the roof and stated it had blown off and rained into the entrance. I said I would come back down for the nex 3 days, charge 1/2 days for labor and travel and get it to a point to be sanded for him, but wanted to know when he was paying me!! He stated he couldn't afford to pay me my full rate and was only planning to pay $300.00 for the dormers. So I settled for a lesser rate and said I would continue as planned.

So I worked for him Mon., Tue., and Wed. Did what I said I would and called him to find out when he was paying me.  From that point on it has been nothing but excuses.  I'm sure LIES because he keeps telling me he'll pay me when he completes the job and he's not going to screw me, and more excuses and lies. Oh and by the way when I got on the job site it was a total mess from the front yard to the back and down the driveway and the home owner wasn't pleased!!!

Norman Bevins owes me $640.00 It's now been over 3 months and it's still the excuse that he hasn't finished the job. Which I keep telling him that doesn't matter. As a contractor you pay your help before you pay yourself!!!

I did call him, of course he didn't answer as usual, and left him a nasty message and read him on his machine the submitted rip-off report #353477 Massena, NY.

Hope this helps any and everyone who might hire or work for him, DON'T DO IT, you'll probably end up in the same situation.
