I need work done to my home. I have heard their commercials and catchy theme song for years, so I decided to call for an estimate.  Their slogan is "If you call, I'll show up!".

I called and described the general work I needed done, and asked for an appointment on Mondays, since that is my only day off.

The person on the phone explained that they only give estimates in my particular town on friday mornings. I explained that mondays, because of my work schedule, were the only days I could do it, and that it did not need to be this Monday, it could be any monday. I also explained that as long as it was monday, they could come any time it was convenient for them even if meant I would need to wait a few weeks.

She again told me that they only did my town on friday mornings, and proceed to tell me that  I did not need to be there for the estimate.

First of all,  I don't understand why my town has its own specific day of the week. Is everyone in my town off on fridays but me?

Second, who is going to let them in to the house if I am not there, the dog? Are they going to also ask the dog to show them the problem areas and what we would like done to correct them?

Why would anyone allow a contractor to come to their home when they are not there, estimate a job they do not know all of the important details about, and then take the estimate or the company seriously?

Apparently the slogan should be: If you call, I'll show up.....when I want to! P.S. Your input or participation is not needed.
