After my car was involved in an accident it was towed and left at this storage facility

I went there the next day to retrieve my personal belongings and fill out paperwork.

I informed Ruben that my insurance company wanted me to release the vehicle to them and they would pick it up the next day.

Ruben told me that if I released my vehicle to the insurance company then i would be losing my ability to negociate a better settlement on the TOTAL LOSS.

Ruben then had me sign some papers which he said he would fill in later - I signed them because I trusted him.  He lied.  Everything out of his mouth was a lie.

One of the papers I signed was releasing my TOTALED vehicle to THEIR body shop for repair - which cannot be done anyway.  This also ensured that they could charge me double the price for storage and some outrageous fees.

My car was there for 3 days and I was charged $1300 +.

Some of the charges are valid and I am not disputing this but I feel I was PURPOSLY DECEIVED and over charged about $475.

It is a shame that these companies can take advantage of consumers when they are often confused, dazed and do not know what to do next after a bad auto accident.

I have since been told by SEVERAL insurance adjusters and several private individuals that this is common for this company and they are one of the worst ones locally.

The manager DUSTIN was rude and condiscending and actually told me to leave his shop because he could not explain the charges to me to my satisfaction.  He did not like the fact that I told him that he and his employee Ruben were liars.

He told me they did nothing wrong!  I told him what lies I was told and he said "was your insurance company here when he said that"... Dustin KNOWS they are liars and he knows they are using deceptive business practices.

SHAME ON THEM.
